I got a ticket to the monthly milly event on ignition, it’s 10x the stakes I usually play for so I’d like to take my best shot possible at cashing. Is it better to register right from the start of the tournament or would I be better off waiting for a few levels to pass?

How late does the milly usually run? I know it starts at 2, but with 20 levels of late reg I’m in for a long night if I run deep. I’m just getting back from a one week vacation on Monday so I’d prefer not to call out but obviously will if running super deep.

If you don't think you have any edge at your competition when it's deep, reg late, probably when starting stack is 20BB deep. Then pray you win your first couple of flips.

So the larger the edge I think I have, the earlier I want to join. Makes sense and that’s kind of what I figured. Wanted to confirm that was the general consensus because I’ve seen some tournament players insist that late regging on the ignition tournaments is basically free money.

I would get in there and battle from the start. There are going to be a ton of weaker players in this thing early. Don't be scared off by the higher buyin, this thing is pretty soft with all the sattys.

I say you are better off entering earlier and trying to build a decent stack opposed to regging late with 20bb and grinding that from the start.

I've been playing poker for a long time and my stamina is lower these days so I prefer late reg like 40bb is ideal so you don't have to play as long because it's the worst to be mentally drained just when you're going deep

I still like to have some play so try not to reg 25bb or lower because then you're just usually going to have an allin in first 30 mins so it's a bit of a lottery

Enter when it starts, play your game, try to accumulate chips, don't over think things. Still lots of soft spots in that tournament.
