Any way we're folding? WSOPC $365 $500k guarantee

Ok here's the backstory. Event 2 of Cherokee WSOPC 2,607 runners we're down to 44. Top spot pays $102k & 43rd pays $2,685 not concerned about ladders at this point. We're currently sitting on ~650k in chips at 3k/10k/20k antes/blinds. I'm on the button with QhQs UTG+2 raised to 65k folds to me and I pop it to 175k villain flats. Villain has ~800k before the hand.

Flop comes out 3d9hTh

Villain jams.

He's been playing pretty open in the hour or so he's been at my table. I don't put him on a set with the open jam or AA or KK with the flat pre.

Putting him on a range like JJ, AK/AJ hearts or AhTx here

Anyway we can lay QQ down here knowing we're going to be left with ~25bb if we fold?

Sorry I updated original. I was on the button not BB. He insta-jammed the flop.

We are crushing the range you describe. Villain's line looks fishy to me, too. I would call for sure.

Button and BB is a huge difference to your 3b range lol. I snap call and hope he isn't doing this with KK/AA. Folding because we think he has KK/AA here every time is -ev imo.

One thing to note - if you're 3! hands like A10, J10 and villain knows that, then you may only be ahead of JJ. That being said, villain could also be incorrectly flatting A10 there and jamming it on the flop

Spoiler....We talk through the hand out loud and explain the range we have him on and make the call.

Villain: AhTd

Flop 3d9hTh
Turn 3d9hTh7c
River 3d9hTh7cAc

and we're out!

Happy with the call and read...obviously not happy with the river but such is poker. Stings a bit that we'd be 3rd in chips with ~1.3mm but don't think we can find a nit fold against this player and how the action plays out

Gottem - as I said, likely incorrectly played A10o.

He is behind all Ax you are 3!'ing and getting reverse implied odds to flat, he is also behind your overpairs when he hits his 10. He is only ever ahead if you are loose on your button and 3! weak suited Ax.

Good call, sucks he sucked out, onto the next one.

Thanks! Glad he had the AT and we were way ahead instead of flipping against AhKh that's the only hand I was really worried about and was considering the nit fold.

387k in the pot before his jam, and effectively 862k in the pot after he jams. You have 475k behind

Against AhKh, you are 48.99%. Easy call if you think he is doing this with AK nut flush draw.

I'm at work - but go on PokerStove and plug in villain range of all A10 combos, AhKh, AA, KK, JJ and see what you get. You need better than 35.5%.

But as previously noted, ez call.

Also note he might (should) just jam AKs preflop. Indeed, with these stack sizes, not sure Villain is ever supposed to flat preflop (except maybe trapping AA against an unsuspecting hero.

Good call. I feel folding on that flop would be terrible especially with how the hand played out pre. i probably 3bet a little smaller to like 145-165k but your sizing is fine.

Opponents call pre is terrible. Calling w a-10 pre oop is so meh.

But what was the point of the re raise ? At 30bb any call to your raise makes you pot committed, right? Are you folding to his shove?

The point of the re-raise was to isolate his range. We were 7 handed since a table was just getting ready to break and he could be opening pretty wide here.

3-bet here is perfectly fine, at 30BB we should be ok getting stacks in, especially vs. loose villains.

exactly. On T high board. I wish i could get that last minute of time wasted scrolling down this thread lol

U 3bet for value pre and snap call the jam. If you were afraid of his range because you know him to be tight with AA or KK you'd consider just flatting pre, otherwise what's your plan pre? 3bet with QQ and fold to jam?
