In the middle of the rebuy period. No reads on anyone. I’m new to the table.

Blinds are 125/250 20 ante:

UTG (20k) opens to 530
Vilian (Hijack) (13k) 3bets to 1500
Hero (15k) calls in BB with AKo and UTG calls

Flop (4.8k) 2K3 rainbow

I check, UTG checks, and villain bets 1225. Hero calls and UTG folds

Turn (7.3k) 8 rainbow complete

I check, Vilian bets 2.4k and has about 8.1k behind. Hero calls.

River (12k) 6

I check and Vilian shoves for 8.1k. Hero?

Check/ raise him in the flop...

What am I getting called with for value if I am check raising him on a dry rainbow flop? He 3bet a UTG open and I have no reads really after that.

If I check raise and get called I get put in some really awkward OOP spots on turn/river I think

I think we either want to 4bet (and call it off to shove) or fold preflop. We are blocking aces and kings so looks like a sweet spot to pull the trigger. Folding is perfectly fine when we know the 3better is tight. By flatting we are screaming we have JJ, QQ or AK and we will be oop in a giant pot.

As played, I check call three streets.

Hmm, yeah so that was my worry before I flatted...that my hand just becomes face up and easier to exploit. I didn't even consider folding pre but that is an interesting consideration. I do think I took the worst of the 3 options pre.

I like the check/raise all in... No worries in turn or river. Probably ending the hand right there.

The flop is pretty good for you... Only hands you fear is AA and KK (last one very unlikely)...Being an overbet I think some villians with hands in his range like QQ or JJ would "not allow you to steal from them" and sometimes pay you...

Pretty clear 4b and watch as every hand that isn't {QQ+, AKs} **** itself.

4b gi pre i think. as played river is a snap. he can still have AQ that is bluffing, depends on player though. if hes super tight can obv argue for a fold but you havent given us any reads or info on the guy. if its your time to bust, its your time. whole reason to check call down here is to let bluffs hang themselves, not to miraculously get away when he triple barrels of AA or something. also there are only 4 hands that can beat you... AA and KK... you chop with AK and now his range is super sensitive to overbluffing, especially since your range looks like 99-QQ.
