Accumulator Pre-tournament strategy Accumulator Pre-tournament strategy

I have a general strategy question.
Next week in a local casino there will be an accumulator tournament, i.e. several starting days, fixed blind levels at 20 minutes, will be played around 10 levels per day. All start days are with unlimited reentries.

The starting chips and entrance is:
5K for 50 + 5
10K for 100 + 10
15K for 150 + 15
20K for 200 + 20
30K for 300 + 30

What is the optimal strategy to play such tournament?
I expect day 1 to be a hyper-turbo luckbox chasing, while Day 5 to be primary sharks and low field quantity.

My initial intentions were to play only day 2 and day 3, but not sure if that is the best approach. Any ideas will be welcome.

Ultimately your goal should be to evaluate the blind levels and the final day structure and set a target as go how many chips you will want to sufficiently compete for a title.

If your goal is simply to cash then you should just buy in starting on day 1 and evaluate after each session.

If your goal is to win the best chance of doing that will certainly be to play each day and accumulate as many chips as possible. Though depending on your intentions for the final day structure maybe there is a certain number of chips that if you were to reach that mark you would be satisfied with the spot you’re in.

For example say the last day starts at 1000/2000 with 200 ante. 100 big blinds might be enough to justify cutting off the accumulation of more chips because you feel you’re in a strong enough position to win. Maybe 200 big blinds is your number in this tourney, maybe it’s 50.

People seem to have different philosophies here but ultimately I would recommend the last option, evaluate the structure and set a goal number of chips to be over going into the last day. If you meet that goal before the $300 with 30k/starting then no need to put more money in play.

Great one, thank you!
Indeed this is a better approach than mine!
