It was middle of tourney with blinds 500/1000 antes 100. I have 60K. All table have range from 15-30K and where is only one guy who covers me by a little. Pretty decent player and medium aggressive. Few hands before he made play with flush draw. He made small bet in flop got call from original raiser. Made a little bigger bet on turn and got re raised. Then he shoves all in. Other player folded and he showed flush draw. After like 15 minutes I picked up As9h on cutoff position. I made 2.5 raise. First question: is it a good raise having a big stack guy on BB in this situation? I got a call from button, who pretty loose player with about 30K and BB(villain)with 65K. Pot is 8500.Flop comes Jd 9d 4c Villain makes 2000. I call and button calls. Pot 14.5K Turn 9s. Villain makes 4K. What is the best play in this situation?

IF BTN is loose and calling on a wide range and BB is leading draws w/ small bets then r/c obv.
Make it like 15k and call a shove.

1. raise with A9o from CO is fine... even if the big stack guy in the BB calls u have position for the rest of the hand... A9o is just too big of a hand to fold in this spot.

2. def raise the turn. the 9 is the gin card for u, and there are some draws out like openender and flushdraws ... make it like 14-15kish

No reason to fold flop getting 4-1 to call w/ some dolt behind who you can not worry much about.

Def. open-raise pre - whatever that STD raise for the table is.
Given read on button, I also will simply call the flop bet. We have the best hand quite often here.

Don't yell "yatzee!" when raising the turn. I might bet a little less than 15K if I thought it might induce a shove from button or BB. Otherwise, 15K sounds like it is in the right neighborhood.

yes i did not see reason to fold flop. On turn I wanted to make around 15K, but I knew BTN guy will call it and so BB. Did not want to play against two people. Plus I knew if some kind of middle card comes, BTN wil put rest of the chips and I have to call there. If he would of call turn he would have around 11K. The pot would of be around 59K plus his 11= 70K cant fold there for another 11K

How have you known that? ( esp If he calling pre wide)
You have trips, why didn`t you?

What happened as played?

I took my time on turn analyzing situation. The BTN guy was very loose and can make loose calls even on turn. The pot after my 15 would of be 34K. He can easily put another 15K to see a river and have a position. That's how he played for the rest of tourney. So then a BB will do. 49K he has to put another 11K. I had two bad beats from another tourney before at the same day and was tired of it. Did not want to anybody catch anything. I asked myself question if I make 15K and BB shoves on me, am I gonna call? The answer was yes and I decided to shove on turn. BTN thought for like a minute and fold. BB looked at cards and makes call J9. Was mad that after all grinding from 15 K to 65K I lost it all in one hand(( Now trying to figure out was it a bad play on my part
