Early in a tournament I got yelled at because of how I played this hand. (I think it is because he got unlucky, but want opinion if my line was bad on this hand or not.)
Blinds 75/150
Hero Stack ~12,000 (120 BB)
Vilain Stack ~ 16,500 (165 BB)
We are the 2 biggest stacks at this early stage of the tourney.
Vilain opens UTG for 400 everyone folds to the Hero in the cutoff with 7

Vilain bets 800, Hero calls. (Pot 2,625)
Turn is the w
Vilain bets 1200, Hero calls (put 4,825). With this call the Hero has ~9,600 left behind. I called because it is really hard to put the Villain on a 8 and it is a lot more likely that my flatting range has an 8 in it then the UTG raise. Especially when I block all but one combo of 87 suited, also in my mind hard for the Villain to bet 3 streets when the 8 hits me more then him.
River: 7
Vilain bets 2,500 and the Hero shoves, and the Villain calls. Villain shows 86 off. Then proceeds to get angry with me for calling 2 streets with my 77s.
I am just wondering if me calling the turn was fine. It might be a little wide but I still think it would be hard for the UTG to have an 8 (even though he did so I was wrong on his opening range from UTG), and because an 8 should hit me more I think it is hard for him to go 3 streets with hands like AA, KK. Also if a 7 didn't come on the river and he bet the river I was folding. Just thought I had decent showdown value and it is hard for him to bet 3 streets, let me know.
