local tourney..Shove or fold? local tourney..Shove or fold?

20 players left out of 53, pays top 4. I have 55k, blinds are 1k/2k/500 and will be raising to 2k/4k/500 in 3 mins (20 min blinds...20k starting stacks).

Female player i don't know much about, but seems pretty tight is UTG+1 & shoves for 13k, UTG+2 is a good, aggressive player & he shoves for 41k.
Folds to me in hi-jack and I look down at 99. Shove time or wait for a better spot?? Again i have 55k..My M is approx 7, have 27BB's (but blinds going up soon as i mentioned and doubling). Average stack is 53k.

I shoved, not worried about the initial shove by the female w/ only 13k, but knowing utg+2 is very capable of shoving ak, aq, 77, 88, maybe even 66, aj.. I figured it could be my best spot and paying only top 4 figured this was a good situation to accumulate. Result to come. Was shoving right in this spot?

I only play live and I'm folding; sure it's an ISO, and he may be light, but he has 7 players to act behind him, and with his stack he doesn't need to make a play right now. I'd put him on 10s, Js, or Qs, perhaps AK. You also have four to act behind you as well. I fold. With 10s it's close, and with Jacks I get it in.

Ya I like your line of thinking and you are correct, he had 1010. If I had 15-20 BB's then I think it's right to get it in, but I still had time and the possible hands of his that had me crushed (AA, KK, QQ, JJ, 1010) outweigh the possible ones I had beat (77, 88, AK, mayyybe 66, AQ and of course even w/ AK and AQ I'm still flippin.

My local tournament is similar in size. With 20 players left and your stack, I would lean towards shoving 1 on 1 against shorties who are already anxious and desperate. The point about players left to act is pretty important.

In this exact situation, I would like to shove if the raiser has less than 20K. If you have a good read that the raiser is stealing or on tilt, 99 can be a good call. If you muck the 9s and go card dead, that's just a bad night.
