$50 live event. No antes. blinds are 20000/40000. 5 handed.

We are UTG with Q8s. With our stack size of 110,000 giving us less than 3BBs it's a clear shove according to GTO charts. There is 10 left, 9 at final table top 7 paid. Are we ever folding here? We are aiming to finish first not just make $150 for finishing 7th.

Players have been opening to 2.5x with 6BBs with AJ or Ax and showing.
Is opening to that size with those hands really optimal or don't they know what they are doing? One player shoved 10BB on the button with JTo which is probably optimal GTO wise.

I assume no antes. You are so short that you don't have much FE and maybe should just defend the BB next hand. Maybe you should have shoved earlier.

I would assume it’s a better hand than what you will get in the bb and go with it. Even if everyone folds, you pick up 50% of your stack.

It is pretty unlikely everyone folds, and you are going to have to post the BB next hand anyway. Assuming no ante, the BB is getting 1.9-1. If you had a little bigger stack, then push.

Because it is live, I guess you can push, if you think there is like a 30% chance of the steal getting through.

As we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don't know we don't know. And if one looks throughout the history of our game of poker, it is the latter category that tend to be the difficult ones.
