I call from BB with T6o since it was a 2X raise from CO that seems like a standard player (22 vpip).

I have quite a lot of chips at the table (~65bb) villain has ~40

Flop 945 rainbow I decide to c/r and he calls.
Turn 9 I bet small he calls.
River A I bet the rest of his stack half pot bet

Villain calls with K8s (no flush draw was possible)

I mean, I just can't forget this hand yes I went out of line with the bluff but what the hell?

K hi is a dec bluff catcher, having an 8 sucks but if you’re just going to start blasting off with random cards you can’t really complain about the other persons strategy

^ This. Essentially OP is is saying "I ran a bluff with total air because I knew V didn't have nuttin.' ... But how did V know my nuttin' was worse?"

If you want to get wonky here, better to flat flop, then give up on turns unless you pick up a good draw. If Villain checks behind, then you can bet bigger on the river. This line works against habitual Cbettors who bet flop too much and check turn too much, turning their hand face up.

Just my experience...
