Middle levels of 45 player field live MTT

50/200/400

Hero (26k) at this table has a moderate image. High RFI but getting almost all of my hands in MP. Haven't shown down any bluffs really. Just solid chippin up in smaller pots for the most part.

V (35k) has a decent RFI as well but mostly in LP. He hasn't 3b at all that I've seen, just mostly playing pretty passively over calling behind PFRs. He's raised my blinds a few times now (he's 2 seats to my right) but I've had 0-equity hands every time he's done it so I haven't defended at all.

Folds around to V on BTN and he raises to 1300. SB folds and hero tanks for 20 seconds and 3b to 4,000 with A3 from BB. I feel like his range is pretty wide here. Could even be ATC since me and the SB haven't been defending at all for the last few rotations.

SB considers for a moment and decides to flat IP. I think he jams/folds most pairs here.

Flop: (8600)
8 6 3

I decide to lead for 4,000 here to retain control of the pot. I feel he's most likely holding 2 overs. Surprisingly, V flats. Time to give up.....

Turn: (16,600)
A

I check, V checks behind.

River: (16,600)
4

I insta-jam. V tanks for a while and eventually calls with ATo.

Anyone see anything they'd do differently here?

I think your line is good overall, some arguments could be made for betting turn as we set up river jam better and charge spades. Checking is certainly fine too as it looks like we have an overpair like TT-KK and scared of the ace, he might try to rep the ace and turn his hand into bluff.

Jamming river is good, I think his calling range is pretty inelastic, hes calling or he isn't no matter the sizing, if you bet 8k and leave 10k behind it sort of actually looks stronger than shoving. If he gets to the river like that with an ace I don't think he would ever fold it now so going for max value seems good.

I think I flat pre here some percentage of the time. I think checking or betting the flop is probably ok given backdoor outs. River Jam is the right play

generally wheel Ax just calls pre out of bb getting decent price and not flopping well.

3bet bigger to like 4.8k
c/c flop

While betting the turn charges spades, with the A landing on the turn I felt the value of not scaring a middle ace away like A9s-AJo would be more worthwhile for overall value by checking.

Also, when V flats the flop I'm putting more overpairs back into his range and hoping he got creative here and flatted pre with QQ-KK and that he would more likely call my river bet.

I figured if I bet/bet/bet he's folding his weaker Ace holdings and QQ-KK by the time we get to the river, regardless of the price he's getting since spades and an ace both got there after my flop bet.
