13 left. 5 at our table. Pays top 4. we are like 11th out of 13.

Ante 40 blinds 150/300

Hero ~6600
Villain - Chip leader
Villain - aggro button, raising my big 100% of the time (5 orbits. so far defended once, folded 3 times). He has showed up with some hands for sure - running a bit hot.

Hero BB Q

V opens to 900, Hero rips it in (defend instead?)

I defend with 30+ BBs here. Given the aggro V, I'm going x/r shove if I hit any part of the flop (and it's not otherwise too coordinated/scary).

Got it - so what about 22 bigs? Shove or fold? Or defend?

With around 20 bbs in this situation where you are 11 of 13 and only paying 4, I might be inclined to shove vs. this V. How was he playing when someone played back at him pf? That would certainly factor into my decision.

Why are you jamming? What range do you think you should be jamming to a 3x open off 22bbs?

Upswing poker BB defense charts say this is a shove at 20 bigs to a medium BTN aggressor or Aggro BTN aggressor but interested in other feedback

To answer your question - a lot of suited aces, any pocket pair, suited broadways, some unsuited broadways, and premiums obviously - as mentioned, V has opened 100 percent of my BB's at a 5 handed table, and he doesn't min raise- he always 3 x's

3b jamming ~20bb is so damn profitable it's easy to get a little jam happy. At least it is for me. I catch myself sometimes doing it ~28-30bb eff and I think that's a mistake- I think we can defend more and show a better expectation. But 30bb+ I think it's a clear defend. To answer your question, based on the meta you provided and the fact that we're 11/13 with 4 paying, rip sounds fine to me

also it helps that our Q removes 8 combos of AQ and KQ

ah, I missed it was a 3bb open. I think a rip is still profitable over a 3x open, but your point is very valid.

Anything but fold here. If villain's range is 100% then I would love the jam coz they cannot defend much when having so much junk and even when they do then you will usually have 35%ish equity so not a big deal. Also, you have Q blocker, which I like. So overall, I would have preferred the jam but just defending is fine too.
