Blinds are 8k/16k (1600 ante) 16.8K up top. right now we're getting 592$ until 17th goes to 730$ I think it was..

We're floating between third/fourth in chips w/around 29bb on button w/JJ (around 500k)

Opener is mid position. I recall had a lower opening frequency than most. He's second overall and barely has us covered. I didn't have much of a read on his playback vs. 3b (fold to or 4b) frequencies as I believe this was first table I played with him.

SB was shorter stacked.. 6-7bb around 100k, and BB had around 420k and hadn't 3b yet out of about 30 hands and had about 50% steal.

What's your play here?

i would start by 3 betting

3b is generally my default in such spots. In all honesty, not sure why I didn't. I thought I could both under rep my hand and take advantage of position post flop + a little bit of ICM mixed with Risk Premium and decided to flat..

He opened to 33, I flat 33, now BB raises to 90k even.. Initial opener folds... we.. ?

when we do 3b, your calling off a 4b shove yes?

Maybe lean a bit toward flatting given that villain sounds a bit tight, we dont really have to bloat pots, and JJ would be near the bottom of our value 3bet range here anyway.

If we do decide to 3bet we are calling it off.

As played we flatted the BB 3b.

He leads 954 (2 clubs) flop (we have no club)... I flatted.. are you guys generally flatting, or just shoving here? Ever anything else?

I would just pile over the small squeeze and pray to win a flip, you guys are so shallow
As played have to rip flop m8, calling seems significantly worse, you don't need to balance/be unexploitable with your calling range on an anonymous site

Felt a bit of an awkward spot in the moment and girlfriend had just got home and came in the office at the time so was a bit distracted.

I peeled flop. Turn Ace and he shoved the remaining 150k and I snap-folded at that point. He showed a single card - Qh.. So guessing I saved chips in the micro, but not the macro..

I actually doubled up shortly thereafter, was back up to 5th.. slightly over 500k, and then lost it all on a big flip again in 19th, opening AK on button hoping one of the blinds would shove - Same guy did reshove and his 77 held.
