Curious what's your standard play here - This was several days ago / don't post often and don't have the actual hand history w/me atm, but essentially -

About 3/5's of the way through tourney - We're on button w/around 60k chips and directly to our right in CO is a good reg we've played with a number of times and beat us recently when we got to HU with him in a 50$ MTT. He has a very similar stack - right around 60k and we're both about double AVG stack.

2 to his right in MP a 20k stack opens, (I apologize I don't even remember the blinds now, only CO's 3b sizing) ..

So MP who we don't know much about opens, and gets 3b by good reg to our right to 3K .. I believe open was to around 1200 - maybe 250/500 level?

What's your standard play with AQsuited in this spot?

Curious too as played (I did play post) what's your turn/river play - I'll go into that after..

Kinda depends on how wide you think initial opener is, but I probably like calling best at these stack depths and seeing flops. Hand plays well post.

Could definitely make a case for a 4betting though to around 9k if we thought the reg could 3bet on the lighter side. Close spot

Would like to know a little bit more about the reg ideally.

The trouble with 4 betting is we're committed to calling a 5-bet shove from MP. He probably shoves with his better hands if we flat anyway, and I think we can probably get away from it then.

I think we flat, and use our position here.

I did flat. Reg is 'bcmclawh' or 'bcmclaw' on another site.

Plays a fairly solid tight aggressive game. Haven't seen him get too out of line, expecting this 3b to be primarily for value with maybe 1/3 of his range semi-weaker for balance.

We flat, and initial raiser folds.

flop is JJ5 rainbow. Goes check, check .. Ever betting here? Don't feel like it... Our Range has some showdown while losing to anything he's calling or check-raising and we can still improve..

Turn is A, and he bets 1/3..

We flat.

River is 9 I believe. Something relatively inconsequential. He bet's around 3/5 if I remember right. Are we ever not-flatting here?

It depends on what we think his 3bet range is here. Say TT+ and Aces down to ten. Perhaps lower. Perhaps kq. What more do we know on him. You flatted a three bet. Qq plus usually cbets. AQ and AK make sense and slow play of AJ or even the one combo of JJ. I don't think he bets lower aces bet, but it gord back to what we know of him.

I think this is a sigh fold, though not sure I ever find it..

Yeah, I guess that's why I posted..

had that Sigh... I feel like he's almost always got AK here specifically. I didn't think he had many J's in his range although sometimes a slowplayed AJ, and sometimes w/3b range balancing, might have like A5s, A4s, TJs, KJs, etc.. but less likely he has the weak aces, when he bets like this on the river, and really wasn't feeling the jack in his range..

So really just felt like he had AK, but couldn't find the fold.

I was considering too if I should ever fold AQs in that spot, to prevent the end-result, but seems overly nitty to just fold pre.
