bb- 19bb (hero)- 55??

i have just above average stack. if i lose i still have around 7.5bb, if i win this spot im about 6th in chips with 50 left. results aside, should i be looking to take spots like this with my comfortable 18-20bb stack? i usually auto call this but maybe im gambling too much?

18-20 is not comfortable, you should be looking to get stacks in now. Sure your just above average but it doesn't mean you should play tight when the entire field is SS with no real ICM considerations at this time.

I would call here, he can have hands like wheel aces we dominate or even smaller pairs. Can't really pass up on too many spots now and afford to wait too long with this stack.

In a really really soft field you can consider folding. If your average opponent is remotely competent you're gonna have to call 22+ here though. Just too many pot odds to pass up any hand that has close to 50% or more.
