What’s going on everyone,
Tourney details:
$120+$30 buy-in with a $100 bounty. 25 minute levels, 15k starting stacks.

70 entries, 45 players left, registration is closed.

I have about 23k.

I pick up QQ in UTG+1.

Generally speaking, I want to know if it’s more correct to open for a standard raise or jam. However, we know there are always things to consider that are situational based on game dynamic, and based on how the game is going we might be better off doing something unconventional.

What I would like to know is what sort of factors would you consider when deciding whether to make a standard raise, open shove, or maybe even limp in this spot? Things to consider may include:

• Your own table image
• How active/loose the table has been
• Strength of players at table

Also how would the $100 bounties figure into the decision making process?

Thanks.

Blind levels?
Full ring?

You can calculate what a bounty is worth in chips.
It depends on the KO format. Is it progressive? Regular?

If it is regular (so you actually get $100 paid directly after a KO) then your bounty is worth 10k in chips:
You pay $150 for 15k starting stack. A bounty of $100 is worth 10k of chips.

This is important to know because it influences the odds massively.
So if you jam, the player that calls you have to pay:
23k in chips for a pot that is worth 23 + 23 + 10k (bounty) + BB + SB + antes

Blinds? If they're 750/1500+ probably just jamming. At 500/1k you could argue jamming if the table is tight postflop and you never get paid off on a J high board.

Interesting, is this calculation true no matter how much of your stack is at risk and how dominant a position you're in?

Generally speaking yes. Its not so much of a concern with QQ at this stage but when stacks get shorter and shove ranges become wider - but properly they should be tighter than normal because ppl call off wider.

As per the hand when you open shove it's kind of playing your cards face up imo....
