Utg open seems like an easy fold pre?

I probably fold K8o pre vs. 2.25x UTG open, although it's close.

I think flop is pretty std at this depth.

Folding that hand a high % of the time vs. a UTG raise.

As played, your flop shove isn't deep enough to get even a flush draw to fold (and if he has over cards he's actually a slight favorite to K8o). As played may have been better to flat the flop then shove turn if no spade hits. At least if he was on a draw you'd have more fold equity than on the flop.

Good question... Do you play this hand the same or differently and why? Thanks all

Larger flop sizing shows sort of awareness and implies stronger hand and you help him to make no mistake c/jamming naked dominated pairs.

fold pre

as played i like folding the flop, ppl commit themselves with that cb sizing, my guess is that FE is close to 0 and we perform pretty bad vs calling range

yeah def fold pre, but post is even worse imo. You have to respect utg's range more, if he opened late position then it's different but his bet/calling range just smashes u so hard in this spot...it's not like he opened button and has a bunch of weaker 8s and 7s

Sorry to beat a dead horse op but yea preflop is mostly a fold to utg range, id be defending all steal positions, HJ and decide MP.

No point defending bb if we fold one of the best flops for our hand, if we don't vpip here we have none unless its 2p+ in which case we will be losing alot chasing it and not making up the times we do flop it, so best to fold pre or select a handful of the best flops for us and go with it

Just fold it pre-flop , dont put you in messy spots , mosty you will have no value with that hand vs UTG open..

After slogging through 5hrs of late reg and dodging DDOS attacks, I'd be really pissed at myself for essentially getting stacked (at least you have a few BBs left) in this spot.

Really EZ fold pre, I'd rather defend like {53s} than this crappy hand vs an UTG open

Folding pre although it maybe closer than most on the thread suggest.

Flop is a bit interesting. I do think we may have a lot of draws we want to c/r here at this SPR, so it may make some sense to c/r some 8x as well our 2p+ hands. If we get draws to call or overcard combos to fold that's not a terrible result. I do think we need to be careful about c/r all of our 8x here - especially if we're defending as light as K8o - because we might start c/r too much.

We also have to be aware of the bubble here as well obviously, so if we are bluffing less that does change what hands we should be c/r jamming for value.
