yeah not checking turn here, what was your reasoning?
As played I guess we fold as villain cant have many bluffs here. Don't think AQ plays this way, maybe pocket KK's does, but we would expect a 4 bet pre.
I put his range on 99-JJ & AK, if he is holding 99-JJ, he might bet the turn, then I could put rest of my chips in by either check raise the turn, or bet the river.

I did fold. He showed A9s and made flush on the river. It's loose to call preflop 3bet with A9s.

its as loose as bad of a play. You guys are only playin 68 bb eff and what does he do if utg decides to 4 bet?
Thats just a fish in my eyes. He dont get any reasonable pot odds and cant balance his 3bet cold call range and have to fold to any further preflop action. = 100% Fish.

Pre is fine. Facing an EP open it's also ok to just flat. Flatting with premiums protects your entire range there.
Flop is fine, should generally be c-betting less than 1/2 pot on dry boards like this with our entire range after 3-betting pre. Agree that turn is a bet - don't think we need to go huge because the board is relatively dry, but 2.5-3K seems about right. I'd want to do that with most of my overpairs there, plus hands that picked up equity on the turn like backdoor flush draws.
As played, call with overpairs with a heart, fold overpairs without a heart.

I usually bet the turn same size as you suggest, but in this particularly spot I just want to induce a bluff from V, anyway, I played bad on the turn.
Bet the turn next time for sure.... as played probably woulda folded as well. Bad call pre by Villain w A9hh...flop call by villian I don't mind if he thinks he has an advantage postflop and have a plan for turns.. He floated then picked up the nut flush draw when turn goes chk/chk...He most likely would of called a big turn bet based on his preflop action but you gotta bet the turn to deny your opponents equity. Unfortunate spot.
