$109 KO calling it off for 10bb with QJhh

I barely ever play MTT so I obviously had to get very lucky to make it to where I am right now. We're in the money and this hand is played right on a "pay jump bubble", ie, I win $25 more by just folding whatever I have in this spot. I have an okayish bountry ($75) on me, so does the shortie on my left.

During the hand, all I thought about was how villain had a huge stack and he would abuse this situation if he had any clue what he was doing. With that said, I didn't actually have reads on villain.

I was pretty annoyed with myself for making this call given that

1. it barely matters if I'm ahead or not in this situation
2. I can't bust villain, so no incentive to call loosely
3. I cover the guy to my left who also happens to have a decent bounty, so I'm throwing away highly profitable spots if I call now and lose
4. generally speaking, my short stack play is somewhat okay, so I would probably do better just playing push or fold on a 10bb stack compared to getting into trouble with a bigger stack.

So yeah, my best guess is my call is really bad. With that said, what would be a good calling range in this spot? The pay jump doesn't matter to me and I'm assuming that villain should shove pretty much 100% in this spot.

Thank you for any feedback.

Easy call, particularly against the big stack and in a KO.

I don’t know, we only have 60% against his range...

How much do we need, in your opinion?

There are some ICM issues, but you are getting pot odds in addition to being 60% against ATC and 57% against a top 80% range. So effectively, you are getting almost 2-1 on your money. An ICM program might think it was close though.

ITM here I’m folding the Q high. I realize QJhh is better than just Q high, but I like it as a shoving hand 10-12 bb’s deep. 5-6 bb’s it becomes a caller.

Ok, sorry for being an idiot. So what you're saying is it's a no brainer call, in your opinion?

Just to reiterate, I barely ever play MTT so I actually have no clue.

What about this one:

Quote:
3. I cover the guy to my left who also happens to have a decent bounty, so I'm throwing away highly profitable spots if I call now and lose
Does this even matter? Would the situation change if I had say 3 villains in this category on my table?

I didn't mean to imply you are an idiot. Villain will be shoving close to ATC here as your bounty makes it fine for him to get it in for far less than it would otherwise.

As to your second question, yes, it makes a difference! The more stacks you cover, the more incentive you have to get into pots with those whose bounties you can win.

For more, I highly recommend Dara O'Kearney's book on PKO poker. If you are playing bounty tournaments regularly, it is a must read.

I didn’t really factor in the bounty hunting impact..... probably a lot closer to a call then I was thinking.

Yes, and if you look at the stack sizes, if Villain shoves and loses, he doesn't lose bounty ability against any other player at the table.
