We are 10 or so from the loot. I just get moved to a new table...maybe 3 orbits. Have won 2 pots with AA + QQ. Have 515k at 4k-8k and about to be 5k-10k. Right after the QQ hand I open 99 UTG...Mermelstein flats (been wicked active and has same stack as myself) bttn shoves 100k.... WUG?

So you have to call 80K into a pot of 160K, right? What position is V1 in?

BTW did you show the QQ & AA?

Re-raising here would seem very, very strong and likely gets V2 to lay down everything but the tip top of his range. Personally, I don't like calling 80K more as V2 will at least call if not pile over our weak action.

Reraise to 225K. Puke if V2 shoves.

I'm shoving if I am continuing. Definitely afraid of TT/JJ calling behind or shoving if we only raise but I don't think he can when we shove.

Part of this is that I am not a favorite in a $1,600 so I am trying to keep it simple post flop. The alternative for me is to fold which I might do if I thought BTN shove was much more likely to be a high pair rather than AK/AQ because of image/UTG open. I think with BTN about to have 10 blinds, range can be as wide as 77+/AJs/AQ+. And throw in some possibly strange squeeze hands.

Slightly lean fold. It's a 13BB shove over an UTG open and UTG+1 flat, which should be strong in and of itself. Calling leaves us vulnerable to a backraise shove and since this is near the bottom of our range we'd probably have to fold.

If we think UTG+1 is prone to flatting wide I can see 4-bet/gii to isolate being somewhat ok. We should have a decent amount of fold equity and shouldn't be that far behind BTN range, but most competent players won't be flatting that wide vs. UTG open at these stack sizes.

On second thought, I lean fold.

What’s the rest of table look like? If there are a lot of short stacks behind him, there’s a good chance he’s flatting AA/KK to induce a squeeze like this.

If the shover was the only short stack, I’d be more inclined to get it in because it’s more likely that mermelstein has a hand like AQ/TT that he’s just not super comfortable 3betting.

That's actually very troubling for the reasons already mentioned. Folding to the button shove is now more viable.

I honestly don't know what I'd do and would likely go with my instincts in the moment. Fold=raise>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>call.
