Relocating to Boulder Colorado - Any Good Home Games? Relocating to Boulder Colorado - Any Good Home Games?

I'm relocating next month from Arizona to Boulder CO. In AZ, I play in a couple of good weeknight home and private MTTs (45-man size), and am wondering if such a beast exists in (cold) Boulder?

Anyone have experience playing in this part of Denver (or nearby)?

FYSA, Rake-free cash home games are legal in Colorado, but somewhat rare (I knew of two in Colorado Springs, one weekly and one monthly). Tournament leagues are somewhat common (and legal if all money for entries gets payed out as prizes). These often have cash-games for the folks who bust out early.

Raked games are pretty common, though Boulder is close enough to the Casinos up in Blackhawk that they may be less common than they were in C-Springs when I lived there.

Tons of games in Denver, but the ones I knew about were all raked.

Garick, I don't suppose you know of anything up by Fort Collins?

I'm sorry, but Denver was as far north as I ever got. If there is a company/group running bar tournaments though, the guys likely also run home games (though probably raked) and are looking for players. Even if they don't run games themselves, they probably can put you in contact.

I've been looking for a game near Boulder for six months. I'll be monitoring this thread.

I don't live there anymore, and have lost contact with the scene, but I'm sure there are. Also, it's about an hour drive up the mountain to Cripple Creek. When I was there, all the good games were at the Midnight Rose.

Thanks for the timely response. Havent wanted to make that trip just to have limitations placed on my betting, but I guess a lil bit of networkings called for. Thanks again.

The $100 max bet doesn't make much difference in 1/2. It still plays like NL. As for finding home games, basically everyone running bar poker games also runs a home game (though they are usually raked and thus not technically legal). If you go to a bar tournament and ask about home games, you'll likely get a hook-up.
