Hello Guys,

i am currently planning on beeing ~3 months in Texas over the summer, looking to play some 1/2, 1/3 NL Hold'em.

After a little research i am thinking of splitting the time near following venues:

Texas Card House, Dallas (monthly membership: $30),
Lodge Club, Austin (monthly membership: $25),
52 Social, Houston (dialy membership: $10).

I am looking for information and insights to help me (and potentially others with similar objectives) to realize this project (lower budget). Keyquestions are:

- Is renting places on airbnb and rent a car or take ubers the way to go? Looking for a studio apartment.
- Information about the venues

Appreciate any thoughts on this. Cheers.

Or in the Texas thread in this forum. Rental cars are very expensive right now. You are probably better off choosing an airbnb near your venue and using uber/lyft.

That said, if you are on a lower budget, be prepared for a lot of variance. 1/2 and 1/3 in Texas play deeper and much splashier than basically anywhere else.

Yea even 1/3 games can be very deep, and very loose calls and lots of aggression that might not make sense, under normal poker rooms

Yes TCH Dallas is good and only spot there. You have the bars in Deep Ellum

Lodge in round Rock but you can also check out Palms social, TCH Austin near each other in North Austin, not far from round Rock. Plus the bars on E 6th Ave & Rainey Street in Downtown Austin

52 Social in Houston is definitely the place to play...
