hey all, i finally got my tables and chips and room set up and would like to start a poker league with 10-20 serious players in the portland, me area. nothing is set in stone as i am still brainstorming, but i'm thinking something like this, eg:

Total Prize Pool: $4500
1st: $2000 vegas wsop ($1K tournament/airfare/hotel)
2nd: $1000 foxwoods wpt ($300, $500, or $600 tournament/hotel/maybe gas)
3rd: $600 foxwoods mega or borgata deep stack entry/entries
$900 for weekly payouts $60 per/wk to s&g winner)
1% stake in wsop tourney to every player

15 weekends
10 players
$30 each S&G ($450 total membership)
Weekly S&G points payouts are as follows:
5 points for 1st
3 points for 2nd
2 points for 3rd
1 point for 4th- 10th
Culminates in a final 10 person extended structure S&G for prizes where 5th-10th place in points for the season start with 3000 in chips, 4th place starts with 4000, 3rd place starts with 6000, 2nd place with 9000 and 1st with 12000.

basically the goal would be to satellite into a more substantial tournament at the end of the season while also improving each other games and having a vested interest in whomever does end up winning the seats.

i welcome more ideas of how to run this thing but i'd like to get it started in january 2011 and hopefully send a few people off to tourneys by late spring or summer. tourneys would probably run every other saturday night or so. low stakes nl or medium stakes mixed limit game to follow if interest. . .

Although you ask for suggestions, your primary purpose appears to be to find players. So I'm moving this to the Game Listings sub-forum where that type of thread belongs.

never seen something like this, if it were cash games id be interested, but i dont have much desire to satelite into mtt's

I might be interested and I could probly fill the table depends on when you do it. Also +1 to the cash games.
