Moving to St. Catharines in the fall and trying to get a heads up on the poker scene. Looking for poker games in and around Niagara Falls and St. Catharines, both tourney and cash games.

thanks, however I've heard Fallsview charges rake by half hour... any truth to that? This would really hurt my style, because playing tight on 10 handed tables?? is crucial.

Fallsview does indeed charge a rake by the 1.2 hour, which is kind of lame, however there is a cap at $5 per no matter the limit. Depending on the stakes your looking to play at, fallsview may not be your best best. Recently Fallsview has made their min NL game 2/5 and their min limit game 5/5. If you are interested in 1/2 you will find it at Casino Niagara. Fallsview often has a rediculous wait being there are only about 10-12 live tables at any given time, so check out Casino Niagara for a rake, quicker seating, and a wider variety of games.

Also looking for some more steady home games in the St. Catharines/Niagara area. Whether it's cash or tourney, doesn't matter.

Fallsview has a session fee of $6/hour for 2/5 and 5/5 NL, and $7/hour for 5/10 NL. It has 16 poker tables. Other posters are correct that there could be dozens of players waiting, but it takes a long time to open one of the many empty tables. I have learned to phone ahead and if the wait is still long, I get a free drink from the bar and read the free poker magazine.

Casino Niagara 1/2 NL has a rake of 10%, maximum $5 and I believe it's $2 taken on any flop. If you are not good enough for 2/5+, then Niagara is your only choice for 1/2.

Avoid Seneca Casino, which is the only US casino as far as I know that withholds 30% tax on Canadians and other foreigners just for winning a non-taxable satellite or any tournament win over $1! No wonder most Canadians like me play at Fallsview instead.

Because we already had a thread war going over the casino cardrooms, which I moved to B&M forum.

The games at fallsview and niagara are getting pretty dried up. Sitting around with a bunch of regulars dealing with attitude from staff. I have been playing a bit at a home game which is just a few friends by invitation only. We play no limit holdem, limit holdem and some pot limit omaha. If you are interested let me know and I can see what I can do about getting you invited.

I played at Niagara couple of weeks ago and literally all they had was 4 tables of 1/2 NL on Sunday night, awesome dealers as well - not a single one was pitching cards and one of them actually easily broke my previous record for the least hands dealt per down.
