According to your website, you collect $1 per player per tournament. It looks like some of that is used for "league expenses" and some goes back to the players via freeroll and POY prize. Can you clarify this a bit?

Yes it's only a buck, and nowhere close to the pot-raping that goes on in most NYC club games. But people like to know how these things work before they play in a game, so it's to your benefit to explain it upfront. Thanks.

Sure no problem. The league takes $1 from every player who plays in a league tournament. The quarterly freerolls are funded by these dollars. The league takes out money for the web hosting site and $25 a quarter for the player of the year who gets $100 for having the highest average average per game (minimum of 50 games per year to qualify). The Player of the Year also gets a 1 ounce silver coin to celebrate the Achievement (subject to market price of silver). The quarterly freeroll prize pool usually is around $700 after the above expenses. Lastly, the player who has the highest average per quarter get back their $1 donation as a side prize. So if you are the top player for this quarter and you played 12 games, you will get back the $12 (the amount you contributed to the league in fees).

After 3 months or each quarter the top 8 players are entered into the quarterly freeroll. The other two spots to the freeroll will be determined in a satellite from those who play at least 10 games in a quarter (or 3 months). The satellite is free for those who play a minimum of 10 games a quarter.

Hope this explains it more clearly.

Hey I'm new to the city and actually the country as well (I'm from Europe).

Can anyone shoot me a message regarding any 1/2 NL games in Manhattan?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Roman

Are you the same waffleticket as on PTP? Because that waffleticket stole $3500 from his investors.

Don't really play PLO, but no rake? I'm down. It's April btw

Hi All,

I was thinking about starting my own home game in the next few weeks. I am open to all games playing all games, but primarily the game would be a NLHE game with limits anywhere to $.25/$.50 to $1/$2. We would probably play bi-weekly, sometimes more often. Game would be no rake

I have a rectangular, non poker, table that we could play on and a FTP chip set. I realize this is not ideal, so I would ask that anyone who actually plays makes a $5 donation to pay for a traditional, casino style poker table and a new, casino style chip set. Once I have bought those items with the donations, I will no longer ask for a donation.

I will only allow active 2p2 members to attend. Once I get to know you, you are more than welcome to invite your friends. If you are interested, please PM me and we can discuss the matter further.

Thanks!

You're going to want to open your game up a bit more than just 2p2'ers.

Looking to get a .25/.50 game going in the next few weekends. I am hoping for at least a 6 handed game and I currently have 5 players interested, including myself.

Please PM me if interested.

Thanks!

Hey HomeStar,

I saw your message and am moving to NYC soon. I'd be interested in joining if welcome (and depending on your location in the city - I'll be in Lefferts Gardens). I'm actually new to twoplustwo - can't even seem to figure out how to PM people yet. But, I'm sure I could find another way of vouching (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, or something else).

Since I'm moving to NY I'd like to find a new game once I'm there. I looked on meetup.com but all the games seemed to be raked. I currently play in a home game in DC that's a lot of fun, and I guess they organized through twoplustwo forums almost 10 years ago. It caused me to wonder whether you can still find a home game that way. The game I play in is .25/.50 dealer's choice, so it sounds pretty similar to what you're organizing now. I'd probably also be willing to host once in a while.

How do I PM you? Do I have to download Skype for that? Let me know if your game is still going and if you'd be up for adding one more.

Thanks

Hey Chiefsfan,

Did you end up starting that game you were talking about? If so, I'm moving to NYC in July and would potentially be interested in playing in it. Let me know.

Thanks

I live near Wall St. And Water St. and would be interested in NLHE or PLO 1-1 up to 5-10.

What's up New York? I just moved to the city from Atlanta. I've been a two plus two member for a while and I know of a few members that can vouch for me. I'm looking for some good NLHE and Omaha games to play in, ideally ones that don't rake the stuffing out of you (but even if they do I'll probably give them a whirl anyways if there's a few whales).
I also want to check out a seedy Blackjack Chinatown game while I'm here. I have no idea if these types of games actually exist or this is just a Hollywood invention but if they are around let me know.

Love how you actually made the effort to refer to the game you are seeking as "seedy".
