Yeah rake was a joke but u cud mitigate that they had insanely good promos if u showed up early, lmao i still don't know where they were getting the money to do those early bird freerolls haha

Game was good because there were a lot of shady/sketchy players coming to the game those guys suck ass at poker that's why it was pretty good nonetheless it's not like this is a home game in brooklyn or the bronx still seems safe it's ashame tho RIP townhouse F.

A general rule is if it's advertised on fb or home poker games etc it's going to be very high rake. Also a lot of the games posted are just a guy referring you to games and he gets a cut

What can we expect in terms of rake in NYC these days?

I'm just getting back into the swing of things and shocked to find that the game I used to play in, with a super reasonable $8 rake at 1/3, is now a $20 rake. That seems like borderline theft. Is this the new normal??

Need players for two games:

1. Tomorrow (Thursday), game is .5/1 dealers choice (2/4 if limit game). $100 max buy in at first, then match the biggest stack. No rake, self dealt and located at 64th and 3rd Ave. Starting at 7/7:30. We mostly play NL, with some silly games mixed in, and it's a really friendly and relaxed vibe.

2. Saturday, 7pm start, game is 1/1 NLHE. $50 min, no cap. No rake, self dealt, and located at 87th and 2nd. Same kind of friendly game with social players enjoying drinks. Game is held at my apartment.

Also, if you run your own games, would love to hear from you.

Please PM me if you're interested, or run a game yourself.
