I'm about to get shipped over to norfolk virginia, anyone who can point me in the direction of any nearby games / cardrooms will be my hero forever.

There are a bunch of card rooms in Portsmouth. But they are currently closed pending some legal issues going on.

Look in the Legislation forum or the Fight for your rights PPA forum for more details on those.

They might have the rooms open as early as February but who knows.

I play in the Hometown Heroes poker league.

The hometown league is free. 2 (and increasing to 3) entries to Las Vegas WSOP $1000 buy in events (+ airfare and hotel) are given away each season, 2 seasons per year. Just be aware, it's free poker so they are calling :-) Sunday @ 5 p.m., and Monday - Wednesday @ 7 p.m. are at "PA Pub" in Virginia Beach out on Princess Ann close to TCC and the Amphitheater. Thursday @ 7 p.m. is in Chesapeake close to VB line at "Hometown Heroes" corner of Kempsville and Volvo.

There is a poker meet up group for our area. I've gone to several games, its a good group. They do some cash games and some tournaments.
