NL Cash in Hoboken/Jersey City - Home Game Listings -- Two Plus Two Poker Forums

Didn't get many responses before so thought I would broaden the search a bit. Just moved to Hoboken and I'm looking for a NL cash game in Hoboken or Jersey City (preferably close to light rail). I've checked out CraigsList and talked to people at work but haven't found anything yet. Ideal stakes would be from micro to .5/1 but would also play 1/2.

Also, if there are players in Hoboken who are looking to play small stakes NL cash but don't have a game I'd be open to hosting. If there are only a couple interested at first, I could try getting buddies from my old game to come up to Hoboken.

Be careful in Jersey City, int he past couple of years I know of 5-6 games which have been raided/robbed in this area.

Hoboken... if the parking wasn't horrendous I would probably go out there andplay.

thanks for the heads up. And yeah, the parking is terrible. NJ Transit isn't great either so it's a pain to come in and out of the area.

I personally prefer lower rather than higher for home games, both for safety and for keeping the player pool strong. I've had good experience with .5/1 $60 buyin.

I know a low count poster here :P

but I'm from Kearny, NJ and we play .25/.50, and a couple of us would like to find a nice friendly .5/1 game or another bigger .25/.50 game cause sometimes we even struggle to get 5 players to play :P

I'd prefer deep stack .25/.50 over std. .5/1 but either will work. I'm busy this weekend but my gf and I will try to plan for hosting during the weekend of feb. 5-7th. Once we iron out date and time I will pm my # and address to those interested.

Spoke with the gf and she wanted to keep the stakes small (she wanted .10-.20). got a bit of a compromise so game will be (NLHE) .25/.50 with max BI of $100. Game will be next Saturday night (Feb. 6th). Food will be provided.

also, *please rsvp w/ name by thursday as I need to know whether to invite buddies to fill out the game. if you would like to play and I haven't sent you PM, let me know and I will send address and time. thanks

Haha yeah she was a little tiffed... she plays 1/2 NL in AC w/ me but for some reason thinks that a home game can't be friendly if people buy in for 50 bucks. I assured her that these stakes are still friendly but that I got zero responses when I was seeking micro stakes games.

We are starting around 8pm. I'm not sure when we will finish but it's a cash game so we will play it by ear.

As far as game selection, we will only be playing NLHE this Saturday but my gf has taken an interest in PLO so we may try that out in the future.

Yep, some of my buddies are driving up. My gf may or may not play depending on how many people we have. Right now it looks like we are at 8-9 but I assume some people will show up late and some people will leave early.

p.s. forgot to mention that I have a cat in case someone is allergic. Either way I'll keep him in the bedroom during the game.
