I have mixed feelings about this and feel like it's a bad idea overall. The main positives are that good dealers might earn more per hour, and it allows players to reward specific dealers who they feel deserve a tip.

On the other hand, tipping at the table reaches further into what is already questionable legal territory.

Why not just raise the hourly rate by $1-2/hr to give to dealers, or use that to provide players with non-refundable tipping chips to use based on their last session.
If dealers don't get tips, they have little incentive to keep the game moving. Personally, I like to play more hands per hour and dealers who are getting tips also have this desire.

Most, if not all, of the rooms will "pool" tips. I've asked a few times and the answer has always been, "yes", they pool tips.

Not sure if anyone cares, but West Houston Poker Club in Katy has lowered their rate to $12.50/hr and dropped their $15 daily door fee effective on Valentine's day. I'd go more often but not being on Atlas makes me lazy.

Smart! Freerolls is probably affecting their business. Probably not enough players in Katy to support both places. They really should get on Poker Atlas.

They don't really need to be on Atlas.

Other than Friday and Saturday evenings there is usually never more than one table of 1-3 going. The game is good and usually fairly deep though ($500-$2k stacks).

They have been getting a pretty regular game of PLO on Tuesday and Friday evenings.

Are there any clubs still open in Dallas/Plano/Fort Worth?
02-22-2019 , 01:19 AM
Freerolls is trying hard to promote there huge games by showing videos of certain hands played here and there what they need to show is how they only have 1 table in a 12,000 sf club. J.B. you are right there isn’t enough player sin Katy to support both clubs. Freerolls probably pays no rent cause I heard the landlord is a investor. That’s a million dollar club with ghetto owners and management is what I here from what my buddies who went up there said. Now I here Mr Freerolls on investors himself is no where to be seen lately. Where is Trent?

Here’s the scoop on Scamrolls:

- Trent is “not allowed” to play there because “management” don’t want him playing on tab. Instead, he plays at Lions and Prime where he sees his ex-GM who is still owed over $20,000!

-The General Contractor has not been paid in full and is filing for a lien on the business. (That’s what people are saying and I would not doubt it).

-Rent is about $25,000 a month which is not free because the landlord is not an investor.

-Go to

****last update was 8/3/18 showing they raised $11,966 from 34 investors. How is that even possible when they spent over $800,000 in buildout between both locations?

All of that makes sense. I'll add that almost every employee looks and acts like they have never seen the inside of a poker room before and they chose to just keep the doors locked yesterday evening versus having a security guard on site.

They can’t afford security and they are late on payment to security company. Does that surprise anyone that they cannot pay there Former GM and their contractor either.

Guys help out a Nit here. What time do they start charging entry fee at Prime?

Thanks

Edit, before 4pm, thanks google.

if i came home from a poker game - all showered and fresh.....my wife might not approve..lol

They’re close to the ship channel and all the refineries in Pasadena so not a bad idea. I hope it’s decent since I’m in Pasadena. One of the “recommendations” makes it seem like a strip club.

Another one opening in Southeast Houston called South Houston poker players were talking about it at Mint last night. According to a couple players it’s located on Fuqua not sure who is running it or if there opening soon. I love pretty close to Fuqua so gonna check the area out.

Remember the "management team" (husband and wife i think) that was hired to come in and get Freerolls up to national status

Any regular PLO games spread in Austin? Thinking of going to the Texas Card House this weekend...any better choices?

Well, well, well.......guess who’s back in the spot light! That’s right, Scamrolls! Employees received a text from the “management team” that they resigned from Scamrolls due to immoral complications and lack of payment! How many people are these guys going to screw over? I just feel for all the people that were swindles out a bunch of money so Trent can go gamble their money away!
02-28-2019 , 10:54 PM
It’s no surprise that Freeroll’s “management” team walked out on them.

I tried to warn them that Trent was bad news but I believed they both had good intentions and wanted to run that poker room the right way, but Trent never had any intentions of handing over the finances to someone else.

From my precious interactions with them (the management team) they were very knowledgeable and without their help I would have not been able to run that tournament successfully by myself.

Hopefully they didn’t invest to much time and money into these scammers.

lastest rumour going around is not only has Freerolls been told to remove all WPT branding but some sort of lawsuit in the works - scanty details but supposedly this dates back to December....hope it is not true but maybe this creates an opportunity for another club to take up the DEEP STACK events

or will WPT just pass on this - opportunity or black eye on houston....time will tell

Can someone confirm what Trent D. looks like? Someone just sat down with those initials, trying to see if I can legit feel ethically superior.
03-02-2019 , 03:57 AM
Yup that’s the guy one of the most racist, egotistical and arrogant person you maky ever meet. But if you show him that green he will show you that love and be your best friend till you hand over that cash or you life savings or 401K it doesn’t matter to him how he screws you. Mark my words this guy will leave Houston and Houston poker scene really soon.
