When the first instinct is to lawyer up and file, you do not have strong facts. Litigation is NOT the first step for good attorneys but rather comes only after negotiations have failed and, often, just prior to the Statute of Limitations having run. This is especially true where you will see a criminal prosecution for the felony offenses associated with the shooting...

And, ironically, you can bet that your idiot friends with SIGH would wind up filing an amicus on behalf of the Defendants...they know that is likely the ONLY way they would get their desired day in court...

Further, with the assertion that the security guard was not actually an employee of the room but rather was contracted security, there is an absolute uphill battle as it relates to assessing liability to the owner/operators of the card room.

I'm pretty sure a lawsuit can be brought up against the security company "Champion Security.".

A good personal injury attorney is going to sue everyone...the security company, the owners of the security company, Texas Card House, the owners of Texas Card House, the property management company, the property owner, any insurance companies...anyone and everyone they can find to attach.

Nobody is disputing that possibility...but HTPG seems to think that everything rests with the owner/operator of the room. He seems to have no clue about the actual practice of law, just that he is now shifting that ignorance into the civil realm after having previously shown an astonishing lack of knowledge about criminal practice in Texas...

This is a really sad state of affairs for all
Clive, any employee watching you won’t tip off their “robber” friends as you always buy in short and never leave the table with any chips

Corpus Christi report - there are three current membership modelrooms in Corpus.

1. The Poker Gods - looks like very low stakes place spreading small buy in tourneys and 1/2 nl with $40 minimum buy in. Link to their FB - https://www.facebook.com/ThePokerGodsCC/

2. Grinderz Social Club - their FB is pretty active with game posts but I tried to call them twice last night at both numbers and got vm - here is a link to their FB - https://www.facebook.com/Grinderz-So...?fref=mentions

3.pokerKing Card House - called and they had a 1/2 plo game with a $5 bring in and 2 1/3 nl tables. Played in the plo and it was action city with one player going in every hand and rebuying. Most of the players were pretty bad playing any 4 cards. All the players knew each other and were friendly. Recommend to any plo players passing through Corpus and I booked a nice profit. $10 membership fee and $10 an hour time charge. No tipping of dealer with chips and I was the only player that I saw tip cash during the game. Another player said most tip when they leave (if they cash out with $). - here is a link to their FB - https://www.facebook.com/PokerKingCardHouse/

I honestly thought you and I knew each other - however it is obvious that you don't

I never buy in short - for 1/3 I NEVER buy less than 300 - I normally buy 500-1k if anyone has over 300 or more and if someone is sitting with more than 1k - I probably don't sit down.

Most full time grinders I play with don't like the fact I buy in heavy for I often push hard on sets or pat hands and they know they cant draw out

btw bull - if your only way to make a point is to insult the previous post or to personally attack people - you really are not bringing much to the table in the way of discussion...

San Antonio report - there are at least 5 membership model card rooms in San Antonio. It appears 2 dominate the action. The two on Poker Atlas both didn’t have any tables going last night when I checked(AJ’s and Rounders). Alamo City Card House and SA Card House have the most action.

I went to SA Card House and they were packed. Every table was full(looked like around 15 to 20 tables total).Nl was 1/2 and you can buy up to 75% of the big stack. Sat in this while I waited for a seat in the Big O/Congress and in the 45 minutes I played not one person besides myself raised preflop. They all limped called every hand. Very soft game.

They don’t play PLO but prefer 5 Card Congress which is like PLO/8 with 5 cards. They had 5 tables going and blinds were 5/5. Button straddles were allowed up to $20. Game was great and booked a 4 figure win so worth the trip. Daily fee is only $5 and hour fee is $10 which was very nice compared to Houston rates. Parking lot is big and security looked good too. No food served but there is a bar/restaurant next door that will bring your food over and several other players ordered from a Chinese place that delivered. Place is north of San Antonio off 281 and outer loop.

Any recommendations for the better Austin clubs to play? Curious if any options still exist other than Texas Card House. Thx

Played the 25k guarantee at Steelhouse today. There was $2800 overlay. They had 48 players. Interior was nice. The staff was good, and there were 3 or 4 security inside and outside. The surrounding neighborhood / area is pretty sketchy. Even though it has a north freeway address it sits off the road behind a building. Parking lot seemed ok. Got a cash game going around 5pm. I would play there again, but I would not want to be leaving the room after dark.

The Lodge has 20 tables, usually with 2-4 NLHE tables playing either 1-2 or 5-5. There is also a 5-10 limit mixed game that runs on Fridays and Sundays, as well as a 1-2 PLO/PLO8/BIG O table that usually makes around 11pm each night.

Other options include ATX Card House, Capital Card Club, and Full House Card Room. They're all smaller rooms, and I haven't been to them yet.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Prime started running 24hrs/day from Thursday-Sunday. I never played very late but I saw they had 5 tables still running early Saturday morning through pokeratlas.
06-04-2018 , 02:26 PM
Yes, Prime is now open 24/7 from Thursday when they open until 6:00 am of the following Monday morning. They have taken a lot of Post Oak's action. They are running a nice promo where if you play a certain number of hours in a week you get bonus time for the next week. Minimum is 20 hours and you get $50 in time for the next week. Goes up to $200 per week you can get in bonus time. Not too bad.

Still haven't been to Freerolls but another poster in NVG TX thread said they are in trouble($ wise) and not paying some dealers. They have been running a live stream daily and posting to FB. Saw short stacker Clive sitting short in their 1/3 game. What do you say Clive? Bought in big and got whittled down or bought in short as usual?
06-04-2018 , 02:32 PM
I have been there three times

first time I bought in for 500 and had about 700-1000 every time
2nd time I bought in for 600 - I think i never got up a lot and ended up giving my $40 profit to the staff
3rd time - yesterday - I had 500 ($100 bonus included) - I lost in this game to 320 but I was certainly the largest stack when the game started

just because you are sitting short in a game does not mean that i bought in short - there was not a single fish at the table and I played about 2 1/2 hrs and saw that it was senseless to keep playing.

The previous day I had played 30 straight hours and visited several places so I was mentally exhausted.

The game was filled not only with very experienced players but also two players that work there or are management- i only got below 400 in the last 10 minutes i was there chasing a pair and a straight draw just before I left - net was an $80 loss and I was lucky to get that - I only won about 3 hands...1 was an all in pre with AA - won 2 out of three boards
.

No in every single instance I started with the largest stack and other than my 3rd time I stayed very close to my starting stack.

i am NEVER the short stack buy in - I won't sit down in a game that
a - is not suitable for me and
b - buying in large stack is not advicable

If you are talking about the stream - i was close to 1k most of the time - bled a bit back of profit but still cashed out nicely - I only played a few hours

Not sure where you get your info but you might want to check your sources. In the past 5 years I can not think of a single instance where I did NOT buy in at or above the largest stack in the game.

If it was the live stream - that was extremely faulty - the seat i was in often did not report the cards - my stack size was wrong the whole game

I am reconsidering my position on mint now that he has paid the young man his monies due

I went to prime - review
very prestigious - nice set up and about as close to vegas as you can get
some things bothered me - very infiltrated with foreign language - lots of non-english spoken at the table - horrible venting system on the kitchen - my eyes were stinging from the smoke / aroma - this might have been just a temp condition and Im good with that

Excellent serving staff - however management made several bad decisions when called - players showing cards to those that folded all the time when they are still in the hand.

I would go back and see if that was usual behavior - i love the fact they are on poker atlas to see how many tables are running.

Lately I have seen a major drop of advertising by the rake free rooms - I am not sure why but it is summer and poker does go on a drop
