When the first instinct is to lawyer up and file, you do not have strong facts. Litigation is NOT the first step for good attorneys but rather comes only after negotiations have failed and, often, just prior to the Statute of Limitations having run. This is especially true where you will see a criminal prosecution for the felony offenses associated with the shooting...
And, ironically, you can bet that your idiot friends with SIGH would wind up filing an
amicus on behalf of the Defendants...they know that is likely the ONLY way they would get their desired day in court...
Further, with the assertion that the security guard was not actually an employee of the room but rather was contracted security, there is an absolute uphill battle as it relates to assessing liability to the owner/operators of the card room.
