Lions just announced a $100K guarantee tourney for next weekend.

This weekend Freerolls is touting they will be open 24/7 with games all weekend and Cadillac Club(underground place with rake) is offering no rake on Saturday for players to go check it out. Texas Card House has a $20K guarantee tourney.

Places are all stepping up and trying to outdo each other. Good for the players.

I'm not clear on what you mean. All of the existing "legal" clubs except Prime and Post Oak have been using Poker Atlas all along.

I think Poker Atlas intended to withdraw from the Texas poker scene and was planning to be out within the year. After the latest news of charges being dropped, I guess they see a future here and will continue to work with the membership clubs.

In other news, Prime just posted to their facebook that they will be re-opening soon. No date set yet. If anyone has any insight on Mayfield or Paramount opening and when those dates will be that would be helpful.

August 30th is the date for Prime. Also they have now been giving players the contents of their boxes back. Will be reopening in same location.

This story is incredible.

At Lions Poker Palace. Saw Sam Farha come in right after me, with a Louis Vuitton, man purse.

Waiting for them to start up a 3rd cash game of $1/$3, they also just started day one of a $300 buyin $100K guarantee tourney.

I’m thinking might regret this, we’ll see.

Prize pool after day 1A of Lions $100K guarantee is already at $62K. Looks like the prize pool could hit $200K for this one.

Latest update in this saga is that the civil cases are being abandoned...County Attorney's Office is trying to save face by asserting it does not clear the operators but that, since the nuisance suits rely on findings of criminal misdeeds and there is no prosecution, the civil cases cannot continue.

Text of Motion:

NO.2019-30535

COMES NOW the Plaintiff, The State of Texas, by and through Vince Ryan, County Attorney of Harris County, Texas and files this motion for nonsuit against Defendants, KHC LLC DBA Post Oak Poker Club, Daniel J. Kebort, William Heuer III, Sergio D. Cabrera, Alan Chodrow, Kevin Chodrow ("Defendants").

Plaintiff asks the Court to enter a non-suit on all claims against Defendants.

WHEREFORE, PREMISES CONSIDERED, Plaintiff prays that the Court grants this Motion for Nonsuit, and for such other and further relief that may be awarded at law or in equity.

May be a paywall issue for some readers; Chron has limited number of free articles you can read.

Any Austin players here? Will be in Austin tomorrow night and wanted to know the best place for PLO or 5 card Omaha. On the Poker Atlas App I see ATX Card House, Shuffle and Austin Poker Palace. I also know about Texas Card House which isn't on the app. Which would be the best option for PLO or 5 card on a Tuesday night? Any other Austin places I should check out?

Thanks!

I can only hope that someone would take a stand in the DFW area. We are still left high and dry around here.

I live and play in Austin. Can't tell you the "best" place for PLO, but I know that a 1-2-5 PLO game goes every day at Shuffle and I see it most days at Texas Card House. I've heard that APP is the place for Big O, but haven't played there my self. Might depend on where you are staying, north or south of the river.

Can anybody confirm that prime social will be accepting its previous chips? I can't imagine the answer would be no, just double checking
08-21-2019 , 11:26 PM
They answered yes, if you have chips and/or time cards you can use them, on their Facebook page.

Did something happen recently at Freerolls? They sent out a survey text this morning with a lot of apologies in it as if something sketchy happened.

So Ogg uses a consultant that also is consulting with the poker rooms she is trying to bust out of business.

I mean what a botch job. This Mireskandari character meanwhile made off with massive fees and did not perform successfully for either side.

The poker rooms paid him 250k to get some type of license which didn't happen and Ogg's office was also paying him to investigate white collar crime like the poker club busts which are now dismissed.

So this guy got paid on both sides for work that resulted in nothing. Amazing!

Ogg's office claims Mireskandari had no knowledge of the criminal cases she was advancing at the same time ooookaaaayyyyyyyyy. Mireskandari is a huge fundraiser for Ogg. The claim was he had no knowledge of actual cases.

The pokers room's attorney called Mireskandari “the legitimizing presence of a DA’s office representative." Incredible.

This is positively macabre. Does anybody have dirt on Mireskandari. Who is this guy. How did he get in such influence positions. The article does say he organized one of the largest campaign donors for Ogg. I am speechless.

This is all my opinion of course and has no factual basis.

FROM ONE OF THE OWNERS

Charles Potter Clive Heyn I have played at your games and with you for over 10 years. You have my direct number. If you have a question and want to know anything just pick up the phone or message me as you have many times in the past. You once told me that clubs don't listen to members. We closed the club for half a day to have a company training due to the increase in business and staff. We have to get everyone on the same page. Floors, Brushes, Cage, and Dealers need to function as one team. We have allot of new people so a day of training was needed. The survey was to communicate with our new customer base.Get members feedback and implement good ideas. So if you would relay that to 2 plus 2 or whoever is looking for an explanation.
