Getting a 'page not available' error message on that one. Either it no longer exists or it is one of those crappy FB pages that requires someone to have a FB account to view it. And if it is the latter...what IS the content (I refuse to ever get FB...I abhor Zuckerberg's views on privacy)?

It's a picture of dates/event/buy-in/location of the 100k guaranteed at FreeRolls in Katy

Sorry but I'm a non-believer that this WPT event will ever take place. Unless it's at another venue the odds of it being at the new freerolls location are slim to none. it takes months to build out a location and they always have investor or money issues. I do hope that that the event happens somewhere cause that's awesome for Htown poker. I'm not sure if having at a hotel is Legal or not because wouldn't that not be a private place. I know there aren't many poker laws in Texas but that's been the table talk that I've heard lately

do a FB search on freerolls - it just states the date of the WPT event from the founder Trent Daniels

Overall the LIPS tournament seems to be a success - I thought it was to be held at the hilton and probably they decided not to rent the venue due to costs

the satellites did not take place (according to poker atlas) but last night they had 36 entries and the main event gathered 75 ($500 entry).

Personally the club is too small and the tables are too cramped to hold much more than that - but maybe this is a good sign - for once Post Oak had over 6 tables of cash running

Meanwhile Prime still got 47 for their sunday $500 tourney

Steel house is having a 50k guarantee the same time as Post Oak's Card player event - many players (including myself) are not happy about this lawsuit between them and Prime for it is the pettiness of Post Oak to demean all the other clubs and owners.

To put someone in the gutter you have to join them to keep them there.

There is still time to change - lets see if it happens.

SA Card House in San Antonio is hosting a $100k guaranteed 2-day tournament, with 3 different day 1s, on labor day weekend. It is going to be a huge turnout. $350 buyin, with an optional $200 addon. Wouldn't be shocked if prizepool hits $200k. Should be fun.

Has anyone been to Steel House? Heard their ads on the radio but haven’t seen any reviews.

i went to the $150k GTD and that's it

Great set up - bad location

However they have a very good tourney coming up

Rumors from tables are that Mint has a court date coming up from something room related. Anyone hear anything?

How big you guys think the Cardplayer/Post Oak main event going to be this weekend?
Also I wonder when Prime Social is going to have a big tournament guarantee/series

i really dislike when these places do "guaranteed $xxxx for 1st place" type tournaments. So lame when the payout gets messed with to reach that guarantee.

Agree, 888 did the tournament where the winner won $888,888 and second place was like $2000.

Next thing will be
restore backpage and offer "back door flushes"

Just looked at Poker Atlas looks like the 50k tournament at Steelhouse only has 37 entries so far. Huge overlay so far.
08-03-2018 , 07:36 PM
the last time they ran it ...it brought close to $175k prize pool - I don't think they are in trouble on 50k GTD
08-03-2018 , 07:37 PM
But you are right...that's pretty sick

So we ended up with a pretty good week for tournaments

The main event for post oak ended up right at about 150k
Steel House did cover their guarantee of 50k

I will say that Steel house did a bigger prize pool on $300 entries with 1 rebuy(only) and one add on than Post oak did with $500 unlimited rebuys ($175K) but post oak did have a full week of LIPS and Card player tour.

When the dust settles these next couple of weeks we will see if this helped post oak's exposure and increases their number of games.

Meanwhile more and more places are popping up in the weirdest places - Babaloo (the place that was going to be better than prime) has now partnered with a bar league. In other venues several restaurants are putting in poker tables with the same model. I don't know how long it will be before hospitals have poker tables in the waiting rooms and schools will have after school tournaments - lol.

oh puh-leez...plenty of people do just fine in games where there are lots of big stacks. They don't even have to nut-peddle. Competent players realize that big stacks are not an issue when the effective is no more than you have in front of you...
