Long Island Games? Long Island Games?

08-31-2011 , 11:05 PM
Hey guys. First post. I live in Dix Hills, we have a game that we try and run a few times a week. Most of us are kids between 19-25. We normally play .10/.25 NL Deep Stacked, but if enough people would be down we will play anything up to 200NL. Tried to play tonight but not enough players. Email me if anyone is interested.

Brendan... I e-mailed you man. What do you guys consider Deep Stack in Dix Hills? Deep Stack in Dix Hills can be a big difference from Deep Stack in Bay Shore haha.

Tough to imagine that Hearts is still going after this many years operating pretty openly, with a heavy rake, and mostly house players

Deep Stack relative to the small blinds that we play. .10/.25 with a general buy in of 50. Honestly I'd rather play .50/1 if we could get it up and running. I don't feel comfortable playing in the clubs so I am trying to boost my home game a little bit.

Sounds good man. I'm definitely in as long as I can play that night. I could probably bring another guy if you guys want. I'm in the same position as you--my home game is kind of falling a part because the players don't care as much about cards as I do.

brendan and whoever else, do you think we could get the game up to 1/2? i would much rather play that but i would play .50/1 with straddles of course haha

Just emailed you Brendan. I'd prefer 1/2 but I'd play .50/1 as well. I play a bit with soccer4life. He'll bring some action to your game..lol

Sounds like we might be getting this huntington/babylon area game off and popping. I'm comfortable playing .5/1 or 1/2... really whoever's place we play at can decide terms.

Rake is gonna be 5% with a $20 cap for the $20-40 horse. I tried to explain how insane that is besides the fact that you can't rake split pot games. I'm not sure he gets it though.

I misunderstood. $10 a half is reasonable. I'll be there.

On top of the fact that this is yet another raked, illegal game listed in the clearly marked "legal home games" section, we actually have people who think it is reasonable to be charged $20 an hour to play in one because it happens to be $20/$40.

In a casino they'll charge $14 an hour for a 20-40 game. If someone is running a game underground and taking all the risk then you gotta expect the time is gonna be a little higher.

$14 an hour is a lot to begin with, it isn't "OK" just because it happens to be in a casino. And, $20 is a big jump from $14. Also, places don't have the right to perform whatever highway robbery they want because they set up an illegal game and then worry about the legal consequences.

Also, it's almost incomprehensible how this guy is still allowed to post here. He does nothing on this site but flood this one forum with advertisements about his illegal game, despite the fact that it's a fourm for LEGAL home games.
