Looks like our initial small home game is starting to snowball.

Depending on how the next one goes and the players that turn up, what are people's thoughts on moving the game to a different, more centralized environment, ie: a hotel room in the city.

That way we could accommodate more, but still keep it at a reasonable and managable level, like two tables at once etc...

Opinions?

Perhaps we can check the locations of the new guys, maybe we might have two home games as it seems we have people kind of scattered around the place.

Finding a location that could fit two tables would be hot. My garage is a one table kinda place though.

I agree with Crimcof, the fundamental issue with the home game is the ability to host everyone at once. Given the limited space, someone is going to miss out.

Could everyone please PM their locations to me and I'll combine a list of people and places and then we can look organize games in an area central to the majority.

PM me the following:

Name:
Location:
Preferred Game/s
Stakes

This way, even if half of the group cannot make it, the other half can still have a game as there is enough to fill a table.

That being said, I will still look to organize a larger game at a hotel room, however I see that as v3.0 of the current home game.

I don't see any reason why a regular game could be run, however the hassles with everyone being disjointed is in the communication of such a game. What I will look to do is use the list of interested people then communicate en-mass.

Cheers

hotel room seems like a good idea. if there's 20 of us, each person only has to chip in 10 bucks or so for the room

Hi guys, i'm new to this site and wouldn't mind playing in a home game. Is there anymore info on any upcoming ones? Location, blinds, BI, etc?

This thread seems like a good a place as any to ask a question like this. Where is the best place in Melbourne to buy a really good chip set + decks of proper laminated cards? Any advice would be welcomed, cheers

depends how quality you want to get
easiest answer is get lucky on ebay, otherwise you've got to look overseas
from memory holdempokerchips.com has really nice chips, discountcasinogear.com etc
but head over to chiptalk.net they are crazy about chips over there, and they know whats what.

For a decent deck of cards, go on ebay and search for a set of copag or kem. Cost around $25-30

It'd be good for 2 or 3 other to arrive at the scheduled start time, otherwise we're gonna be playing short-handed for a few hours. (We could always play some other games for smaller stakes until we have at least 6).

Either way, I'll be there with bells on at 7.30, ready to play short handed or full-ring.

Jazz - It'd be good to finally meet you also.

Good luck with the baby sitter (fingers crossed)
