Wait, does that mean we are allowed to post about raked games here??

I thought that was a no-no in Home Poker.

Of course you can't post them in this thread; this thread is for unraked games in the DC area, so raked games would be off-topic.

If you read the stickies, you'll find that the place to post raked "home" games on 2+2 is in the non-traditional game listings thread.

Kind of.

If you get off at Pentagon City metro station and take any 16 bus it's a 4 min ride.

If you know Arlington at all I'm very close to Bob and Ediths on Columbia Pike.

If there are any low-stake games closer to the Baltimore/Annapolis area over the next month or so, please send me a PM with any info. Thanks.

Hey Cliff_W, I also live walking distance from that metro station and would be interested in joining some micro games every now and then. PM me if you need players! I can't PM you since I don't think I have posted enough for the privilege.

I still play in home games at least once per week. They were instrumental in giving me the confidence and etiquette I needed to play successfully in B&M settings. They remain the most fun I have playing poker. Home Poker Forum.

Microstakes NLHE and mix big bet games along with small buy-in 2-3 table tournaments available in northern VA. Ashburn/Sterling/Leesburg area. Typical stakes are: 25c/50c, 50c/$1, and $1/$2. No rake. Good group, mostly beginners / social players but a few regs. Email ashburnpokerclub@gmail.com to get on the email list and ask for info.

I go to GMU in Fairfax. If someone could pm me any info on games near me that would be great. Anything close to a metro stop would be fine to. Also if anyone at my school is a serious player I'd like to meet them. Thanks.

Edit: I'm down for any limits and games.

Spend some time on 2+2 and get involved in other discussions. As a first post, this one smacked of shilling for a game.

My weekly home game in Old Town Alexandria has been running for around ten years now. 100 yards from Metro. Mostly Tuesday night, occasionally Wednesday. $50 tourneys with cash game as people bust, or straight cash games (.25/.50, .50/1, 1/2). Ten seats, but try to hold it to eight for non-HE games. No rake. Mandatory $10 toward pizza, chili, snacks, etc., or place orders from local restaurant. Minimum age 25 for guys, 107 for women. Schedule and details at www.va-holdem.com. Always looking for one or two new potential regulars.

I'm definitely interested - in fact, I know/have played cards with one of the guys in your game already.

Shoot me an email and tell me who that is, and I'll add you to the mailing list, if you like.

Two seats open at the moment for this Wednesday's $50 freezeout.

In the weird small world category, we just had bratwurst for dinner tonight. 8

Phinneas (and others in NoVa) -- I'm also looking to get into a regular or semi-regular game, preferably in the Herndon/Reston/Chantilly areas. I prefer NLHE tourneys up to $50ish but I'll squeeze in a smallish cash game here and there also.

I used to play with a bunch of VT grads but this game dissipated. I've tried to host tourneys several times over the last few months but many of the guys either just gotten a promotion, just gotten a wife, or just had a kid, so their free time is not what it used to be. But there are still a handful who can probably make themselves available on any given week.

Shoot me a PM if you'd like to chat -- maybe we could work together set something up relatively local.

Matt

There's an awful lot of regular activity on the DC side of the Leesburg area. You might visit chiptalk.net's home game forums and look for posts from gcrissman, among others.
