I'd be interested in a NOVA legal game (no rake or fees). I prefer limit, either LHE or 7CS.

I live in Dundalk, looking to start a regular, casual, lower stakes games after the Holidays. Keep an eye out on this sub-forum next month for a post about it.

yeah after spending less than a week in DC, I can confidently say I would never sit down at a table with anyone from that area.

It's not an insult, it's a compliment. He knows how good we are, and wants to save his money for when he goes to AC.

That game stills goes regularly. It alternates often between a 1/2 NL and a 4/8 LHE week by week.

And to the guy who runs the game: we want our avatars back!

Bumping this thread because our home game has been a bit short-handed lately and can use some new players...

Updated Summary:

A low-stakes home cash game that's been running for four years. Stakes: .25/.50, $50 buy-in, re-buy allowed if your stack dips below $20. Mostly NL hold'em, though often mix in a few orbits of dealer's choice (typically Omaha, Pineapple, Double-Flop, etc). The game rotates between a few locations (Capitol Hill, North of Dupont, and Capitol Heights)... Usually plays every Thursday Night, 7:30-12:30...

Generally, it's a laid-back, friendly game. No jerks. No dudes with sunglasses. No one wears headphones. Drinking is encouraged. Bad decisionmaking as well...

Drop me a PM if interested. I can give more info or add you to the official evite list...

I wouldn't randomly invite people from the internet into home games. Like someone mentioned earlier, do the pub games and get known a little. I played the dc/md/va poker scene pretty hardcore for 2 years. Me and a buddy would literally find a game every night of the week. Due to a major ass though, someone started calling the cops on a lot of the home games we played. Haven't gone back to the home scene since.

1) be smart about who you invite b/c there are some sheisty people around here (this actual area)

2) never bring more than a 2-3 buy ins...

There are huge games in the dc,NOVA and MD area every night. Like RepresentNothing said you have to be careful where you play. I tend to stick to the ones that are held in condos that have security at the doors and where the condo owner has to push a button to let people in to the building.(these tend to be raked and run 5 nights a week) Other than those i dont really go to any other home games unless there held in the high scale houses in Clifton, Reston, Vienna, VA (where rich guys hold there games like once a week!)

Also i dont know what stakes your looking for but these games are normally 1/2, 1/3 ,2/5 and Sometimes 5/10 games of NLH and PLO

I've had trouble finding pub poker in the area. Anyone know of any steady pub leagues in the Alexandria area?

I'm very interested in playing in Washington, D.C. But Like TheWizard and ReasonNothing, I prefer to play in safe places like houses with security at the door or somewhere like that. Along with that, I'm interested in starting anew at pub games, any upcoming games at pubs here in the D.C?

Also drop me a pm with offer to play games in safe areas like the ones TheWizard outlined it.

Finally got hooked up for one of their games last nite ($1-3 NLH). Enjoyed it, but it's 32 miles from me out in Manassas Park, VA. Good group, I'll return maybe once a month, but that's a hike from my home and work.

Any non-raked (legal VA) limit games in Arlington/Alexandria? LHE, 7CS, O8, anywhere $2-4 to $10-20.
