I'm moving to Alexandria, VA, and am also looking for micro-stakes games near Alexandria, either limit or fixed limit. Or even pub-league if there's a bar that does that. pm me if you guys know of anything, thanks.

Not sure about any fixed limit games... I tried to start one years ago and couldn't get a sustained group together...

As for pub leagues, there are a bunch... Check out this link for a bunch of DC-area pub poker leagues and when they play:

I was thinkin' the same thing. I haven't been posting much but definitely have a TAG profile that enough of us at the table and we will just slowly have our bankroll depleted by the rake (if you play in games with rakes that is). Granted my reading of tells isn't perfect so I may lose a little more than the rake over time. I am interested in other games in the area. I live on the Maryland side.

well, I don't know how many of you crazy bastards are still around from when I left in '07, but I'm moving back to DC to go to Georgetown Law, and will definitely be needing a home poker/drinking/Georgia Avenue fix at some point. Shoot me PMs if stuff is going on

In town (NoVa) for the next month and I'd be interested in any games. The Fri night one I'd like to do but I'm usually gone Fridays (despite the fact that I'm home tonight ...)

I see a lot of people posting saying they're interested, but not as many saying they have a game. Anyone interested in trying to organize a game? I mean it'd be full of p2p'rs and so you can either a) play for decent stakes against good players to test your skill, or b) make it a mandatory beer in hand game and play for low stakes to have fun. I vote for b because that's way more fun. Anyway, I can't host for various reasons associated with my housing, but if there's interest in this and someone else can host, I don't mind trying to organize.

PM either way.

When you're here a little longer, you can post about your game.

I just got an email about a $1/2 nlhe home game starting up in mount airy md. It's by Frederick and close to Howard and montgomery counties. There is a $50 freeroll to start off every game followed by the cash game. It said the first game is Friday august 14 and to celebrate the opening players will receive 10% bonus on their initial buy in. This guy used to run a quality game in Baltimore, that's why I'll most likely go. Always had plenty of food drinks and beer in a friendly atmosphere. I'll be making the trip from Gaithersburg. If anyone is interested he gave me persission to forward the email invite.

I'm looking for a .50,1 -2/4 home game in Montgomery County, NOVA, or Northwest DC. I play on Stars and Cereus but enjoy live action much more. It's difficult for me to make it out to AC so I'd love to find a regular local spot to play at 2-3 times/week. Please PM me if you have any info. Thanks

I live in Montgomery county Maryland. (Damascus) I am looking for a hold'em game if anyone has one. I am a decent player I guess, Not amazing by any means. .25/.50 or .50/1 would be my stakes maybe higher..

I live in Herndon, VA and am looking for a local game (20 minutes away or less). I'd like to play something in the neighborhood of 1/2 or 1/3 NLHE or 5/10 LHE or lower. I'd also be interested in a mixed game.

I live in NoVa and have been hosting a weekly game since March. I prefer limit, but it started out as 1/2 no-limit because I couldn't get enough interest for a limit game. However, the past 6 weeks or so I've been hosting a 4/8 limit hold-em game and it's been going strong!

I plan to return to Gally (the nickname for Gallaudet University) on August 30th, so I'm looking for any games that are near a metro station, any stakes, unraked game and also in a safe environment. If so, pm me or email me, I'm interested in playing my first home cash game in anywhere in my life.

hey whatever **** I guess I am just going to post in here to rant. i went to a home game in annandale today with two of my pals, my second home game. last time I went over to this game I got ****ed out of some major pots.

so we showed up, bunch of nice guys, 20 at the peak.

the game was raked so they ordered pizza and it started with a $200 freeroll, winner take all. me, my friend, and some guy got down to final three. I busted as the shortstack and they split the prize for $100 each....ffffffff****kk****f

When I got into the cash game (1-2), i was owning **** up...bought in for 80 and was up to 230 when this hand comes (9 or 10 handed).

anyway the hand doesnt really ****ing matter at all, all the matters is that i was bb and checked it up with Jx

flop J45 I called a $12 bet...
turn J I bet high 30's
River 4

He bets 20...

I pop another 30 for value...

he pops me for 100. i call

he flips j5....

which felt like **** once i realized I coudl have gotten away from it...the only thing I was looking out for was 44

now i'm back to breakeven. I get AK UTG+1 nd pop it to $12. one caller. flop JQ2 no flush draw.

I lead out for 23, he raises me 30 and i push all in...he flips over 28 and I dont improve

i say good night to the fellas and head out...

i coudl have donea lot with that money but i guess i'll go cry. game was super soft. but i guess that's what i desreve for taking a shot at a 1-2 game with 80 bucks...LOL1

Is this really a home game, and not an underground club?
Dare I ask how much they were raking, to offer a $200 freeroll to start??

Yeah I think it would be an UG club as per the definition earlier in this thread. I'm not sure how much rake was being taken, which is pretty bad, but I don't think it was outrageous. IMO it was worth it for the dealer + tournament + food.

I think I heard about this game, but heard it was $1/$3.

Did you go yet?

and buuuuuuuuuump

still looking for good home games (preferably in the DC area). Prefer 1/2 or 1/3 NLHE, but will play limit, HORSE, whatever if the game is close enough. Anyone looking for players let me know.
