Just a reminder that what makes a home game illegal in Virginia is whether a rake or seat/time fee is collected. Don't know about DC and MD. Numerous friends from work talk about getting something going in low limit ($1-2 to $3-6) LHE, but it's been a busy summer. Don't want to scare off the newbies from work by beating them too bad first time out.

I've played in the king&queens and stars&bars, which are fine bar entertainment (but smoke bothers me). Typically pay two places, with either cash ($50+) or gift certificate for the bar. I've seen a few as eight and as many as 55 people showup depending on the venue.

I have weekly Thursday game that I run at my apartment in Arlington, VA. No rake. Just friends and a good time. Up until recently the game has been 1/1 NLHE, but now I am trying to expand the repertoire. Therefore, starting this Thursday the 11th, we are going to try to start playing HORSE at least once a month. The stakes will probably start at $3/6. If anyone is interested in playing, PM me. Thanks.

My regular game only plays every other Thursday - always looking for more.

Prefer NV.

Invites will be reciprocated when we have openings.

Hello everybody. I just got a new set of clay chips and will be breaking them in Friday night at my home game. It's .25/.50 NL.

It's a very relaxed game with non-creepy people. Well...about as non-creepy as poker people can be I guess. PM if you're interested and I'll send you the directions, etc.

Thanks!

Ben

If anyone is looking for a player, shoot me a PM. I am in Bethesda, but fortunately have a fast car.

I am pretty flexible on stakes and game. I am just sick of playing on the Internets.

I am looking for mid stakes no limit or PLO games in the dc/va/md area. I usually play 2/5 no limit but would also play 1/3 nl or pot limit omaha. Please email me if you know of any games looking to add players. My email is buckdew@hotmail.com

We've actually had a low-stakes (.25/.50, $40 buy-in) home cash game running for a little over three years. Mostly NL hold'em, though occasionally we'll do a couple orbits of dealer's choice (typically Omaha, Pineapple, Double-Flop, Stud, etc). I used to host it every Thursday night, but since having a baby, I've had to hand it off to other regulars, and now the game rotates between a few locations (Capitol Hill, North of Dupont, and Capitol Heights)... Usually plays every Thursday Night, 7:30-12:30...

Generally, it's a laid-back, friendly game. No jerks. No dudes with sunglasses. No one wears headphones. Drinking is encouraged. Bad decisionmaking as well...

We've been short players for a few weeks now, and looking to add a few new faces to help keep the game going strong.

Anyway, drop me an email if interested. I can give more info or add you to the official evite list...

This is just a shot in the dark, but I haven't been able to find a steady game. Would want to play somewhere near a metro, not too far from the northern va area. Would want to play stakes around .25/.50 or .5/1 nlh, but also open to other games. Feel free to PM.

Hey all,

My HORSE game in McLean, Va. has not run in months because of space issues, but we got that resolved. If you are interested, please PM me (including the people that PMed me before when the game wasn't running).

Thanks.

WARNING - I'm absolutely not saying anyone here is suspicious. But if you are in NoVA, and particularly Arlington, BE VERY CAREFUL. The vice cops there sit around pulling their puds all day waiting to entrap unsuspecting gamblers. And the prosecutors are only interested in one thing. Conviction rates. Justice? Well, if that's part of the deal, fine. If not, that's fine, too.

It's OK if these are truly just home games with no rake, since that's not illegal in VA. But before you introduce anyone to any bookies or home rake games, make sure you know them pretty well.
