Is someone actually organizing a game in the DC area? Or are we all just posting that we're interested?

I just moved to DC a few months ago, staying with family friends until I find permanent housing. Otherwise, I could offer to host.

There are numerous games in the "DC area." Some, including mine, have been discussed at length. You district guys just seem to be afraid to cross the river. 8)

My wife works at Connecticut and M, and makes it home every night in about 25 minutes -- at rush hour.

BTW, VA is the only local area where home poker games are legal. They're not in MD, and the DC laws are really weird, allowing lawsuits to recover anything over $25 lost, not only by the loser, but after 90 days, by *anyone,* with the proceeds -- including costs -- split between the plaintiff and the DC government.

Hi everyone. This is my first post here, so if I violate some sort of protocol, I apologize in advance.

I live in N.W. DC and am looking for a small stakes (anywhere from .25/.50 to 2/5), no rake home game. I see from prior posts that either such games already exist or people have recently been trying to put some together. I don't own a car, so the game would have to be Metro accessible. I'm a laid-back, decent player. Anyone with info as to a game, please let me know.

Thanks!

Rangar, I think a bunch of us have just talked about getting a game going in NW DC, but it hasn't happened yet. It would also be great if we could get a carpool system started for trips to West Virginia. I don't own a car, but would help chip in for gas.

Interested in cash games(no tourneys) in NW DC or metro-accessible VA.

1/2+ preferred (.25/.5 too small).

Same. It sounds like there are a number of people that in NW that are interested. I unfortunately don't have my chips and table in DC atm though.

Well I would play any stakes really, would just love to have a local game to play in. If there's a game going that is looking for an extra player, let me know.

Last edited by jack492505; 02-05-2012 at 11:34 AM. Reason: I would be okay with organizing a game if there isn't one alread, would just need time to get my chips/table down here to DC.

I'm putting a list together of players interested in starting a regular home game (.25/.50; 1/2 NL) in NW DC. If you haven't received a PM from me and you're interested in playing, send me your email address. We have about three to four players who have expressed interest in getting this going.

For people looking to play on the lower-stakes side (.25/.50), we still have a semi-regular game going that usually plays on Thursday nights (see above #237 for more details)... Games typically on Capitol Hill (occasionally up in NW)...

PM me if you're interested... Looks likely that we'll have a game this week...

A couple of months ago I posted looking for a small stakes D.C. home game, and so far I haven't had any luck finding one, so I thought I'd try again. I have been able to find and play in a couple of games in Northern Virginia, but I'd really like to find one in D.C. itself. (Could it be that D.C. residents work so hard we don't take time out to play poker? If anyone knows of a game looking for a player, please PM me or send me an e-mail. Thanks.

In my "day job" I direct a small national nonprofit working on sustainable forestry and rural development.

If there are other folks in:
environmental
rural development
forestry
ag policy

related fields I'd love to connect with a social type game for when I'm in DC visiting for work.

I'm also from Ohio so would be fun to play with staffers from Ohio delegation.

Anywho PM me. I'm flexible on stakes. Very low stakes game with non-serious players would be nice excuse to hang out with some folks in related fields.
