I just moved out of the area, but if you're willing to travel roughly 1 hour you should be able to play in good juicy games every night pretty much. What stakes are you looking for?

I'm looking in the same area, between 1/2 and 2/5

When your in Vegas or other towns playing poker tournaments make sure you introduce yourself to other players at the table, and ask if anyone is from the Raleigh area and do they know of any home games in those areas. Trade phone #' s and ask if you can get in touch with them when you get back home and maybe play in their home games. If your allowed to play in their games conduct yourself as a genleman and ask the other players in the Raleigh game if they have other games in the general area and ask if you can be invited to play. You would be surprised how many games are in your local area. The key is becoming friends with a guy (or all the guys) who is well repected in the poker games, because players will respect him and whoever he brings to the game. Just remember to conduct yourself as a gentleman at all times and accept your bad beats without whining too much and you will always be welcome. Remember its their game so don't make fun of their games or rules. Be gracious at all times and tell them you apreciate them letting you play in THEIR game. I was a road man for many years and I was ALWAYS welcome in any game because I conducted myself with humility and graciousness. GL

Both of those threads had updates in the last couple of months. Otherwise I wouldn't have pointed you to them, because you're right that three year old info wouldn't help.
