Hey all, I posted an ad looking for a home game to join on a local free advertising site (kijiji) and received a message from a burner Email stating that what I was asking for was illegal without a Gaming license. I've confirmed its not illegal to have a home game (friendly and unraked) per Canadian law, and I can't find anything on the Alberta Gaming and liquor commission website about having a friendly home game. Does anyone know more on this?
Also, would still like to join a home game going on as I'm pretty sure there's nothing to back up this random guy's claim

i am pretty sure you are allow to have home games but if whoever is being a pain in the ass I guess it's in their power to say it's forbidden.
why not play at the casino? heard there's bunch of poker rooms in the area

There's at least 5 casinos in Calgary and the players are absolutely horrible. Lots of bored oil workers killing time before things pick up again. I can't put into words how terrible the players are.
