They do sometimes offer to tip, yes. I refuse because I'd rather play.

To be clear: these dealers will not be playing.

I prefer to have discussions on specifics kept to PM, for everybody's protection.

I NEED EMAILS!

There are far too many players for 2x2 PMs, instead I'm using a listserv for information dissemination. Set up a new gmail account if you're paranoid. Further information on the game will NOT be sent via PM.

We're looking solid! Not everybody has let me know when and what they'll play, but based on those who have responded we're going to be flush with players for all games all afternoon. Let me know what/when you can play so I can get dealers for you. (But don't worry, we can set up tables for self-deal if need be.)

I expect one 3/6 FL table and one 25/50¢ NLHE to run late into the night. Monday's a holiday!

I'm interested if there's still time for new people to get in. I'm willing to play pretty much any sort of poker offered, as long as the stakes aren't out of line with what's been described so far.

Good question! Why yes, yes there is. Anybody interested should send me a PM with the following:

name
email
phone (optional)
hours you can play
stakes/games you can play ($40 PLO S&G, 3/6 FL rotation, or 50NL HE)

This is the only way to get further information.

All information has been sent. Most people should have received an email last Thursday (the 10th), with late-submitters getting it after.

If you've sent me your email and have not received information, please let me know.

It seems the problem is with spam filters. Check your spam mailboxes for "pfapfap" or "[BoB]". The Internet may have caught up with me.

I currently have 40 folks on the list. About 20% can't make this but are interested in the future. Another 20% are "maybe". I expect anywhere from 15 to 35 people. That is, if they got the info.

Bumpity bump.

It's this weekend!

Not too late to get added. I dare say this will be the largest BoB yet!

Very fun time put on by pfapfap and his crew.

They combined the trappings of a card room with the best aspects of a home game. The tables, cards and chips were of high quality and the dealers got out a lot of hands. The spot chosen was great and there were plenty of drinks and food. The games and conversation were lively.

The dealers handled many obscure games better than some dealers at local card rooms handle games they spread all the time. They did outstanding work.

Good to see a large group of 2+2ers together in one spot.

Thanks for putting this together.

Truly incredible game, it went off as smoothly as I could have expected. A lot of last minute cancellations due to various reasons and overall great weather for the first time in a week, but we had 20 people show up, which turned out to be a good balance (especially since two of my dealers were out sick). Good job on the food ordering trial run, you all performed well.

We did one $40 PLO S&G (congrats Stampler!) and had some short-handed 1/1 NLHE and PLO for a while, but the bulk of the day was dedicated to 3/6 FL mixed game, which started a little past noon. Everybody seemed to have a blast, as evidenced by nearly non-stop laughing and smiling. We had two tables of that going most of the day, with one table playing well into the night. In fact, when someone checked to see when the last BART was leaving, most people had no idea it was after 11pm. A few folks even went up to the casino afterwards.

Both the haircut and the mustache are relatively new, and I rarely wear a blazer anymore... so when I caught my reflection, all I could see was this:

And hey, I'm okay with it!

I'm sure I've said it plenty, but thanks again for everybody supporting the game. I love throwing a good party, and I know a lot about poker, so it seems a natural fit.

And here's a secret I didn't reveal before: none of those dealers have ever dealt in a casino, and two of them have never dealt anywhere. They'll definitely improve, but I was very impressed by how well they handled it all. It's scary getting in the box that first time, especially with the crazy stuff we were throwing at them. Thanks for looking after them, they had a lot of fun.

Everybody got along famously, you all represented yourselves well. Just a fine, upstanding, and fun group of people, through and through.

Next game is probably in March. PM me your name, phone, and email to get added to the list!

I was there yesterday - it was fantastic. pfapfap knows how to put on a great game. The average skill level was really high. Plus heading to a Casino afterwards with some of the players was great.

Thanks for the awesome event.

I'll post a TR.

I had a lot of fun. pfapfap sure knows how to host a game. Ton of action. 3 tables were running when I showed up. stackable soprano chips. Pretty Desjgn plastic playing cards. knowledgeable dedicated dealers.

I arrived bout 3.5 hrs late **insert lame tree-fiddy pun**. I entered the doors labeled "sup bro?," ignored the door labeled "permaban", walked up the stairs labeled "all county lineman in 1995", and walked through an open door labeled "no bad beat stories."

The temp poker room was beyond nice. awesome view of the bay. Plenty of lighting. My only minor complaint was the rumble from SFO, but that was easily drowned out by the chatter and laughter of all the poker players in the room.

Here are some pics i took with my camera phone

I first played $1/$1 oh-so-familar nlhe because there wasn't an open seat at the $3/$6 fixed rotation. While playing, I could tell no one knew the correct strategies to play the crazy dealer's choice games on the nearby tables. I wasn't on the table at the time, but 8 players were playing some badugi variant and the dealer ran out of cards on the FIRST draw. I played nlhe for almost two hours before a seat finally opened for me.

Here's the list of games I played: crisscross omaha, stampler, binglaha, kentrel, thermonuclear pineapple, 7-card stud declare, badeuci, omahahihi, 2-11, Gulf of Mexico, and badugi.

I don't remember how to play stampler. I suspect it was an on-the-spot-made-up-game-by-stampler. @stampler how do you play this game?

We ended around 11:30pm because a couple of us need to catch the last BART to the east bay. Two players thought the night was young and went straight to AJ for more pokering. I initially planned to go home. However, I was in stuck mode because I lost a couple racks at BoB. When my BART train arrived at MacArthur, I stepped off and took a cab to the Oaks to chase my losses.

Again, thank you pfapfap for hosting!!

Top notch TR, and thanks to everybody for the generous praise! I had a blast, that's for damn sure.

How'd y'all do at Oaks and AJ's?

BTW, folks, please don't be TOO specific with descriptors. We don't want to betray our location. Thanks for your discretion.

Lol that was hilarious. We were playing Badaci and noone realized that to play it properly only 6 can be dealt in. So of course, everyone limped along to see the first draw cause it's gamboool, and the first 2 guys discard 4 cards and 3 cards and then we're out of cards. So of course everyone gets to draw from the discards which means that the trash just recirculates. I think a 3-card K-hi badugi ended up chopping with a T-low.

The games in the rotation on that table at the beginning were I believe : razz, stud8, 5-card O8, badaci, crazy pineapple hi-lo, gulf of mexico.

BTW, I've changed the name of Gulf of Mexico to Rio Bravo. I think it works and flows better.

I got unstuck at AJ pretty fast. However, It was at the expense of another 2+2er (who I only know by real name). Gulf of Mexico/Rio Bravo, is actually quite a good game. It is hold 'em with a little extra, but not enough to make everyone go crazy. Or maybe I think that because I sucked out rotten on the ocean one time.

Also i forgot to post that it is the only time I have ever seen something in a 7 Stud game. We were playing 7 Stud 8 or better. And we bother had Aces and fives. And the kicker won me the pot. Never seen a kicker be required in two pair in a non-community card game. That opened up the table.

I just wanted to chime in and say I had a blast playing with everyone! And because of my table hopping I believe I did play with everyone, save a single exception. Good times.

I just wanted to say at future BotB events we should have a donkamaent or flipament or something. If we're going to have a battle we should crown a champion.

I will look up the rules to the games everyone mentioned, so that next time I will have some idea how to play them. I liked playing the mixed games but I was totally lost on the rules of some of the more complicated games.
