Truly incredible game, it went off as smoothly as I could have expected. A lot of last minute cancellations due to various reasons and overall great weather for the first time in a week, but we had 20 people show up, which turned out to be a good balance (especially since two of my dealers were out sick). Good job on the food ordering trial run, you all performed well.
We did one $40 PLO S&G (congrats Stampler!) and had some short-handed 1/1 NLHE and PLO for a while, but the bulk of the day was dedicated to 3/6 FL mixed game, which started a little past noon. Everybody seemed to have a blast, as evidenced by nearly non-stop laughing and smiling. We had two tables of that going most of the day, with one table playing well into the night. In fact, when someone checked to see when the last BART was leaving, most people had no idea it was after 11pm. A few folks even went up to the casino afterwards.
Both the haircut and the mustache are relatively new, and I rarely wear a blazer anymore... so when I caught my reflection, all I could see was this:
And hey, I'm okay with it!
I'm sure I've said it plenty, but thanks again for everybody supporting the game. I love throwing a good party, and I know a lot about poker, so it seems a natural fit.
And here's a secret I didn't reveal before: none of those dealers have ever dealt in a casino, and two of them have never dealt anywhere. They'll definitely improve, but I was very impressed by how well they handled it all. It's scary getting in the box that first time, especially with the crazy stuff we were throwing at them. Thanks for looking after them, they had a lot of fun.
Everybody got along famously, you all represented yourselves well. Just a fine, upstanding, and fun group of people, through and through.
Next game is probably in March. PM me your name, phone, and email to get added to the list!
