Whoa, it has been quite a while since the old BotBs at Sossman's house. They were fun. Count me in!

I think I can dig up the old email contact list. If I find it I will send out a link to this thread.

Cashgames were more fun IMO but people love the donkaments. Generally by the end of the tourney (final 6 or so) most wanted it to end so another cash table would open (or that was just me).

I like the idea of a rebuy but not an all day tourney.

Hey, awesome! I figure it will take a little bit to get the band back together, so be patient.

I wouldn't recommend posting emails here, but if you could PM me, that'd be great. I did play at Soss' house a couple of times, but he seems to be inactive.

I definitely prefer cash games. Some low-ish stakes FL rotation could be a blast.

Low stakes rotation does sound good. Maybe make it a 10 game? (Shameless plug as I really want PLO and triple draw although I understand the difficulties in # of players triple draw creates.)

Nah, triple draw is never a problem. You can play it reasonably with 7 players. If you have 8, then the button sits out as it rotates around. Done and done.

I'm always hesitant to include PLO. It's one of those things that people don't know is bad for them. Sure, they enjoy the rush it gives them, and they even convince themselves they're having a good time, but there are only so many times you can wake up in a gutter with your backside bleeding before you start to reconsider your choices.

In my own home game, every night that's included PLO in a non-tourney form has ended in tears.

I posted my haphazard thoughts in the other thread.

triple draw, plo, razz is a love / hate relationship.

Prefer cash over tourney so a faster tourney structure to get the cash games rolling sounds good to me.

Awesome Pfap! Props for taking the initiative on this one. I occasionally see that old BotB thread and wonder if that game would ever resurrect.

My Two Cents:

The only bad dates I see coming up within the next month or so are SuperBowl Sunday (Feb 5th and 6th weekend) and possibly for some, the weekend prior to Valentines Day (12th and 13th). If you’re considering a Sunday game, many people may have Monday, February 21st off for Washington’s Birthday which would work well for the 9 to 5ers.

Personally, I'd love to join and meet some Bay Area 2+2ers.

I'm another vote for more cash game action including low limit mixed games (HORSE, HOSE and I'd even take a shot at an 8 game mix). Also, the range of $1/$2, $1/$3 NL and Fixed $2/$4 up to around $6/$12 sounds ideal. That being said, tourneys are normally a great addition.

Maybe something like:

-Start the day with ~3 sit n gos, start another sit n go (on Table 4?) as soon as enough people have busted from the first three. 90 minutes for each sounds reasonable to me to keep them moving.

-From there, begin the cash games once there's enough people & table space; slowly having two tables dedicated to cash games and the other two to SnGs, until the interest list dies down and all the tables are cash games.

Hell, I’d be game for most anything at reasonable stakes like a simple deepstack freezeout (~$100 buy in) with some mixed action on the side.

I'm interested, as long as there are silly mixed games involved. Like, so silly you can't play them online. Badeuci, Badacey, Razzdugi, etc.

I am interested, the previous ones were like a 40 dollar NL tourney, followed by cash games. Usually one of the cash games was a .25/50 or .50/1.00 NL/PL mixed game, and another was as high as 2/5 I think. Hell, last time we did it as Soss' house one of the cash games was .25/.50 NL where we made up the games on the spot.

I think a mixed format tourney would be fun. Maybe NL/PLO, just to get away from the NL tourney's that most of us probably play at least 1 of a month right.

I like February 20th as a tentative date, good call on the holiday weekend. Unless we hear any big objections in the next few days, let's pencil that one in.

Question: Do we want this just to be 2+2ers, or should we open it up to some other crews?

Also: Please help spread the word, even among 2+2! We need fresh blood. Soss doesn't even play any more, and I doubt he's the only one.

(Tho' be a bit careful discussing at casino tables: some of these floormen know me. )

Feb 20 sounds good to me. Also I don't mind some non 2+2ers in order to get a larger crowd.

Okay, I have my fingers in a few other crews. I'm aiming at people who know enough about poker to be able to discuss it (or at least not be intimidated by strat talk), and who can afford to comfortably play a 2/4 or 3/6 game. Right now I'm approaching people who are at least familiar with what 2+2 is as a concept.

Who on 2+2 is in the area? I can't really post this in any of the more public forums, so where do I go to get eyeballs on this?

If this is a hit, I should be able to do more of them. But it takes a crowd to draw a crowd, so let's pull together to leave an impression with this one!

Holy crap, I didn't know you lived way out there.

I LUVVED playing at the Sossman's house, mostly because of the epic rungood I experienced there. Or was it the house? Maybe it was using the coolest chipset I've ever seen!

Is the plan to have an MTT with just mixed limit or PL and NL as well? I just discovered a game called Squadoosh. Its PLO with two flops, one turn, one river. You play the best flop.

Never attended one of these. Wont miss this one. Some .5/1 or .25/.50 PL/NL sounds good. Along with FL mixed games from 2/4 to 6/12. Should be fun.

Response has been great, both here and in PMs... keep it up! Feel free to post in your regular haunts (they're less likely to get deleted than if I did it).

The plan is to do whatever people want. After another week or so, I'll get a bead on the type of players we have and get more concrete about it. But I'm definitely pushing a FL rotation cash game on at least *one* table (at this point 2+ is looking likely), because it's hard to find that in casinos, and it's just FUN.

So far this seems to be a cash-game-heavy crowd, which is good. Most smaller stakes home games, people want tourneys, and while those are fun and all, they're exhausting... and much higher variance.

I'm hesitant about PLO cash, because as y'all know, that can be brutal to the casual player, and I'd like to keep people interested in playing again, especially if I stock the pond a bit with outside players. But I've had a LOT of success with 2-hour 1-table PLO S&Gs in my home game (get enough people, and as soon as you bust one, another is ready to start), so that might be a good way to open this, since you don't have to wait for everybody to get going.

I believe this is also called 2-1-1 PLO ?

I'm definitely interested. My decks are currently clear on 2/20. I can't guarantee that I'll play, but I want to toss my hat in the ring.

(No, pfapfap, I was not part of the original Battle of the Bay crowd; but thanks for thinking of me.)

My understanding is that 2-1-1 involves a 2-card flop, and the ability to use 3 from your hand.

To go the other way, 3-2-1 is always fun. 3 flops, 2 turns, 1 river!

Just posting to get my name on "the list."

FWIW, I'm primarily interested in socializing with 2+2ers over a low stakes cash game and not really interested in committing to a 5 hour tourney (probably 1 hour for me lol). And my preference is always for simple mixed games (e.g., limit HOS) over weird 15-game combos in which 1-2 people have huge advantages because they know the rules of half pot limit second best pineappaduci and the rest of the table doesn't even know the mechanics of the game.

But I'm low-commitment so don't weigh my opinions as much as the high-commitment peeps.
