Guys,

Here's the layout:

I have 3 tables - 2 nice and one really nice - and enough room to accomodate 30 players. It's a little tight at the tables with 10, but not too bad.

The poker room is the 3-car detached garage. It's finished off, has some posters on the walls and carpet on the floor. There's an older photo of it in some thread about "whats your scene like" if you feel like digging. I got music but no TV.

I have ten really nice chairs, to go with the really nice table. The rest are your typical padded folding chair.

There is a fridge too, regular sized, not some little mini dorm room thing, for beverage storage. It's almost always full of beer.

I have folding tables, 5', 6', 7' for food stuff. For food and drink while playing I use small side tables - typically two players share a table. Each little side table has two cupholders. No food or drink should ever be on or passed over the poker tables. (thats my poker rule #1.... ;-) )

I'll get to the details about equipment (cards, chips, etc.) later.

Looking forward to meeting you guys

what is the open-ness of this get together? like, how well of a rep do you need? any are invited? What kind of stakes are played? I think i could get at least 3 ppl if not more (the main 3 are also 2p2ers) to come down, plus we have two quality tables + copags/chips if that helps?

I don't have the room for any more tables (see post above). As I put up some additional teaser posts I think you'll find all you need to bring is cash. (with one exception) Lots and lots of cash....lol

This is my first time as participant, so obviously my first time hosting.

Outside this event I've hosted about 15 MTT's, 3-4 STT's and a monthly one table cash game over the past several years. I've also been running a monthly 2 table game, at a different location, that well into it's 5th year.

I've been told it's open to any 2+2'ers that want to show. I guess if there's still open seats others can come too. I don't have issues there. I plan to invite a couple non 2+2'ers unless there's objections to this.

I've also been told the games are small stakes - $.25 up to $1.00 big blind NLHE. Maybe some mixed games too. I've played Stud, Razz, Omaha 8 and Badugi - all as limit. My own cash games have typically been .25 or .50 big blind NLHE with the limit games as $1/$2. If we have multiple tables of cash games we can do different things depending on interest.

Maybe a tourney thrown in there too. I guess some past formats have started with live game, then once enough showed for a two (or three) table tourney we can do that. Tourney bust outs can go back to cash games. Past events have had 15-18 attendees..??

As I said earlier I'll be ready to go at 1 pm. And by ready to go I mean getting the cards in the air.

I'm open to requests, suggestions, recommendations, etc. from those that have participated in the past. I'm providing the venue but I don't have any issues about taking a backseat organizing this event to those with more experience. I also don't have a problem taking the lead if necessary.

I expect players to treat each other, and my property, respectfully. I'm sure we all want to have an enjoyable experience. I won't have an issue kicking out somebody I feel is acting innapropriately. I've never had to, and don't expect to, but I will if it comes to it.

I should be able to come, maybe with an extra man in tow if there is any free room. We're both pretty much donks, FWIW.

Small Fry has it about right. It's mostly a lower stakes cash game/tourney day for people with a common interest. And if enough people want to get a higher stakes game going, then they do that. With 3 tables, if you can get enough people to play whatever game you want to play, then I imagine you can play it.

Normally, the only real requirement for admission is a post in this thread so you can get the PM/EMail with the location info. Plus it's nice to know what 2p2ers are coming.

For all those who might be wondering what I mean when I say really nice table and chairs.

This is in the garage and yes I can park my cars in there too.

Other two tables are more basic - black rail , green speed cloth and folding legs.

Sorry about the fuzziness. Took it real quick with my phone.

Is that a ShuffleMaster built in? You weren't kidding about real nice

Looks like we are on for the 21st. You may want to start PMing your address to people pretty soon.

Yes. Built it that way so install was pretty easy.

I plan to PM everyone on the 5th.

If tournaments are ran, I hope the shuffler will be disabled until FT or whatever. I imagine they'd get a decent edge on hand/hr to annoy someone.

Very clean table BTW, nice.

Thanks, but I'd say your incorrect about hands/hr. The shuffler takes like 20-30 seconds. Any competent person shuffling can do the same thing in the same amount of time.

It's just nice that no one has to shuffle.

One thing that can make a difference is competent, dedicated dealers / players vs. everyone dealing. I have always had dedicated dealers and it's much smoother, more efficient and professional feeling compared to other tourneys I've played in where everyone takes a turn.

I hope to have dedicated dealers / players at this event. I have a buddy I expect to attend that always deals for me and I can deal also. Are there a few others that like to, or at least don't mind, dealing and will volunteer? Feel free to PM me.

Dedicated dealers that are playing for a new group might not be a good idea, especially if its a buddy. Impropriety or whatever. And yes, COMPETENT people can keep up; but I can see a billion times where people slow down. Again, the appearance of impropriety or whatever becomes important. Also, you don't think some edge is gained by not having to worry about shuffling ever?

I wouldn't care either way, but there is an image effect this may have; just trying to flag that now instead of after.

I have dedicated dealing for a period at the last 3 Battle of the Bays. We usually just have the shuffle rotate (2 decks) and then I just deal them. I can shuffle too, but people are always more comfortable initially with the shuffle rotating.
