Nah, i'm sure there are at least 3 guys better at 6 max than me, maybe not 7 though. But i'm really a full ring expert. And definately better than almost all that laugh at me and call me a fish. They can say whatever they want, but the reality is i was/am better(or at the very least comparable) at full ring and 6 max than almost all of my haters. The real truth is the reason i didn't win much online was because of hu and tilting. I suck at hu and would play excellent hu players when on tilt. This is where i lost all my money, and where they won it from me. Noone ever beat me at 6 max and full ring, i beat myself. And i never used software or played with my buddies in the game either.
They come play live and don't seem as invincable as they seemed online, i wonder why? 0f course not all of them play bad, but most of them don't live up to the hype they get from here. They are actually human live like the rest of us. Yet when they play live with me they snicker behind my back at what a fish i am to their buddies, when the reality is i'm playing better(when not tilting of course). Ian johns was in my 40-80 game during wsop making comments about my play of some hands(mind you i never said a word of his bad plays, yet he felt the need to express what he thought was my bad play). I was tilting at the time but the play he comments on was a postflop play i made that wasn't tilt, but excellent play.
The hand was a raise one off the button from a local regular whose game i know pretty well, and more importantly know how he plays me. Ian threebets the button. I'm in the bb with qj and call. Now the flop comes j,10, rag. I check local bets into ian and ian just calls(now i know there's good chance ian has an AK,AQ,KQ type hand, as if he had a made hand why wouldn't he rasie the flop on this straight draw heavy flop?) So i checkraise the flop as i m pretty sure i have ian beat, and have a decent chance of having local beat with top pair q kicker. Local now threebets and ian calls(i know the local doesn't respect my raises/always thinks i'm on a move and will threebet any pair here). So i 4 bet it to charge both of them with me having the probable best hand, they both call. Blank on turn i lead they both call, river blank i bet local calls and ian folds. I win the hand. Ian now says something like i can't believe how many outs he had in an insulting way. Like i way overplayed my hand, and that i should have had 2 pair or better to pound this hand. i don't know ian or dislike him. Although his snickering comments were mildly rude and uncalled for, especially when he was wrong. And where does he get off thinking he is a higher authority on how to play a hand than me? I think it was a case of him playing with tlw and having a predisposition/hatred of me without even knowing me. Btw, seemed like a decent guy that just didn't like "tlw". And he didn't say anything bad, just snickering comments on my play.
Then another time playing with "Traditional". Firstoff he wasn't very good in the full ring game. Now the game breaks down and he asks me to play hu. Ok i can understand him asking me once as i was on tilt, buried, and suck at hu. So he was hoping i would say yes. I didn't know it was him at the time, but figured if he was asking for hu he was prolly good at it. And i was tired so i said no(although i never thought traditional was that good and i mighta leaned towards playing had i known it was him). So he sees me hesitate and consider it for a half a second before finally saying no. So he says really sarcastically/arrogantly something like "well if you change your mind i'll be here all night, and i'll be here ALLLLLLLL weekend if you change your mind". i smiled and said ok i'll let you know if i change my mind. The arrogance/rudeness from these kids is ridiculous.

And i'm not arrogant, i'm confident, but alot of these online guys/high stakes players are arrogant. I just think what i've always thought. If you're a real(when i say real limit pro i mean an experienced real pro, not wannabees that play stupid and think their pros) limit pro there isn't much difference in ability between one another. Like if you took Mike Schneider, Bicyclekick, PokerBob, Kpr16, Tuanleewannabee, Philuva, Phil Ivey, Mark Gregorich, Roy Cooke, Ian Johns, Bryce Paradis, Hoss Tbf, Mason Malmuth, David Sklansky, Palomino, Nosorog, Barry Tannenbaum, and a whole bunch of other John Doe experienced limit pros their wouldn't be a big difference in ability. That's if you put them in the same fair environment. A full ring live game where there is no software being used, a game that is comfortable for everyone's bankroll, and nobody has their friend's playing in the game with them.
All of these players know how to play limit holdem. Some might be a little better than others and earn slightly more, but not a huge amount more. Like the aggressive players would have bigger swings, while the tighter nits would have smaller swings. But in the end the bb per hour would not be much higher for any. But the 2+2/online world thinks they are so much better building themselves, their careers, and their buddies reputations up. While the reality is there isn't a big difference in ability, just different styles.
p.s. Mason and David don't play as much limit holdem these days as they used to. But they were solid limit pros when they did. So i'm going on their old play when comparing.
