AJ hand seems fine , but i dont get the call with T8?

fairly standard imo. i got 5.5bb, there's soo much in the pot rel to my stack. bb folds a big percentage of the time. also opener is short and should be really wide, T8s has decent equity against a lot of hands

Not a strat thread obv but I fold the T8s there in SB. Even if a call is marginally +cEV, we pay only antes for the next 7 hands and have more fold equity than we should with 5 bb, and so have incentive to pass on the marginal call. That said, you are clearly v good at MTTs so I could be way wrong.

Still dont like the T8 call, especially given that it is RUSH and super turbo

it is true that's it's only marginally +cEV. i got 40% equity vs a range like {22+,A2s+,K8s+,QTs+,J9s+,T9s,98s,87s,A2o+,KTo+,QTo +,JTo}. meanwhile there's t1050 in blinds and antes (likely dead money) and I'm risking just about exactly double that.

the thing is, though, that this is rush poker. i don't necessarily get another few hands without being in the blinds again. we're ITM and pay jumps are minor relative to what the top several spots are paying. imo i think its time to try to build a stack where i have a little room and be more concerned with the possibility of blinding down even further than the possibility of busting.
