Hello All,

The title of this post should be "So close yet so far!". I got busted in Level 11 in Event 5.

There were a total of 78 players.

Level Av_Stack My_Stack #Players Hand Description
1 10000 18150 72/72
2 10263 18900 76/78
3 10263 19650 76/78
4 13220 19700 59/78
5 17333 22800 45/78 + Quadzilla and - K High < A High flush.
6 19024 19100 41/78
7 22285 22200 35/78
8 26000 23400 30/78
9 35454 27000 22/78
10 48750 16700 16/78 - Lost a decent Pot
11 60000 7500 13/78 Busto UTG 10Jos < Q4os BB on a board of 68K94.

Major Hands:

Level 1 (25/50)
1. Raised to 200 in LP with AJs. 3 Callers. Flop 247. EP bets 600, MP calls and I fold. Turn Q, bet 1200 call. River 9, EP bets 1200 and MP RR 2400 and EP calls. EP Set of 2's lost to MP's rivered set of 99's. Really I raise with AJs and had to face two sets in one hand!

2. I call a raise of 150 on the button with 710s. 3 callers. Flop 7103. Checks to me, I bet 600 and both of them call. Turn J, I bet 750 and both of them call. River Q, I bet 600 and they both fold.

3. I limp with A7s from EP. RR by Button to 150. I call along with blinds, 4 callers Pot:600. Flop 783 with two of my suit (pair of 7's with NFD). I check, button bets 1200 and I call (heads-up). Turn 4 of my suit completing my Flush. He checks I bet 1200 and he folds.

That put me at 18150 at the end of Level 1.

Level 2 (50/100):

4. I call a raise of 250 on button with J9s. 3 Callers. Flop J9Q with 2 Hearts. EP bets 1K and has another 3500 behind. I reraise All-in, he folds.

That put me at 18900 at the end of Level 2.

Level 3 (100/200):

5. I raised in MP to 450 with A10os, 1 caller (Pot: 900+), Flop Q45, bet 800 and he folds.

6. I limped in SB with Pocket 5's. 4 Callers. Flop come A107. EP bets 450, one caller and I fold. Turn 6, bets 900 and call. River 8 bets 900 and a call. AJ > A3.

That put me at 19650 at the end of Level 3.

Level 4 (150/300):

7. Raised to 600 with AK from SB. 3 callers. Flop rags. I C Bet 1800 and everyone folds.

Didn't get a chance to play many hands and ended Level 4 - first break with 19650 and got colored up to 19700.

Level 5 (200/400 with 100 ante):

QUADZILLA!

8. I raise to 800 UTG with 2's. 3 callers (Pot:2400+). Flop 225. Check, MP bets 3000 and LP calls along with me (Pot: 11400+). Turn 8, I check, MP and LP check (really!). River A and I was trying to decide what bet would get called. I settle on 3K, MP
gets doubtful and folds and LP calls with A6 (Pot:17400).

That put me around 37K.

Why do I always lose the next pot I play after I win a huge hand!

9. I call a raise to 800 on the BB with KJs. The player in MP and LP in the previous hand were in this pot as well. 3 callers to the flop (Pot: 2400). Flop 3 hearts. I flopped the King High flush. I check, MP checks, button bets 3K and we both call (Pot: 11400).
Turn non suited card. I check, MP checks, LP bets 5K, MP has around 8K so I reraise to 10K, MP goes all-in. LP thinks and surprisingly folds (Pot: 34400). River another heart. MP turns over A9os with Ace of hearts and picks up the monster pot.

That put me at 22800 at the end of Level 5.

Level 6

I was card dead and didn't get involved in many hands. Ended the level with 19100.

Level 7 (400/800 A: 200)

10. Limped in MP with KJos. 3 callers to the flop (Pot: 4400 = 2400+2000). Flop came 1093. Checks around. Turn Q completing my st8. I bet 3K into 4400 and folds around.

11. Limped in LP with 2's and Limped on Button with 5's. Folded on a flop of high cards.

Ended the level with 22200.

Level 8 (600/1200)

12. Woke up with K's in SB. Raised to 2400, 2 callers. Flop was 10 high. Bet 5500 and took it down.

Ended the level with 23400 at Second Break.

Level 9 (800/1600)

13. Called an All-in from shorty (99's) with AK and flopped trip A's.

Ended the level with 27000.

Level 10 (1K/2K)

Played a hand badly in this level.

Limped around and I limp in BB A5s (3 callers, Pot: 11K). Flop came 678, I bet 5K and pick 1 caller (21K). Turn 10. I bet 7K and he snap shoves and I fold.

He held A9. I would have taken it down on the flop had I put a pot sized bet or an all-in.

Ended the level with 16K.

Level 11

Busto Hand. I was down to 7.5K without any playable hands (short handed tables the blinds were moving faster). I look at 10Jos under the gun and went all-in. Next hand I would have to post the BB and the ante. BB who was the chip leader throws in the extra 5100.

10Jos vs Q4os. Flop came 68K. Turn 9 gave me some outs. River was a 4 and he took it down with Pair of 4's.

Hopefully we can run better in the last event. I wanted to wait it out as I would be playing the Borgata Events this week.

This is the way I have been running:

Event Busted@
1 10/61
2 80/104
3 50/76
4 58/74
5 13/78
6 29/59
7 15/42

Last event would most probably be on Tuesday (9/25/2012).

I agree Blue. The idea was to see the flop cheaply for FD's.

Since I didn't hit my FD and picked up a straigh draw, I thought I will make a play and see how it works out.

I should have bet a little bigger on the flop (2/3rd Pot) or as played should have checked the turn and folded on the river if there is a big bet.

I think the main hand that hurt was the K High vs A High FD.

yeah, that did you in for the most part i agree. You need to win 2-3 coin flips in any tourney (and avoid the cold deck) to cash... then from there it depends on the blinds/stack ratio.

G-luck in the next two events

Hello All,

The title of this post should be "How to lose with Pocket Kings when you need a double-up!". I got busted in Level 7 in Event 6.

There were a total of 59 players and I got knocked out in 29.

Level Av_Stack My_Stack #Players Hand Description
1 10000 12325 51/51

6 19666 5100 30/59
7 20344 5100 29/59 Busto KK < AK on a A8385 board

Major Hands:

Level 1 (25/50)
1. Limped with J9s in LP. BB raised it to 150. 4 Callers (Blinds, EP and LP). Flop JJA. Checked to me, I bet 600, Villan in BB Calls. Turn 7, bet 600, Villian calls. River 5, bet 1200, villian folds.

2. I call a raise of 150 on the button with KJs. 3 callers. Flop 248. Villian bets 200, call and I call. Turn K, villian bets 200, call, I RR 800 everyone folds.

That put me at 12325 at the end of Level 1.

Level 2 (50/100):

4. Folds to me and I raise from button 89s to 250, SB folds and BB calls (Pre flop: 550). Flop 4610, BB check calls 500. Turn, 8, BB check calls 500, River 9 we boh check. Two pair on that board is good.

5. In MP raise to 350 with AK and take the blinds.

That put me at 15675 at the end of Level 2.

Level 3 (100/200):

After a few unplayable hands I pick up 99 on the button.

5. I raise on the button to 550 with Pocket 9's. SB and BB both call. Flop is JQ2. Bet 750 when checked to me. SB folds and BB goes all in. I fold and he turns over JQos.

That put me at 10350 at the end of Level 3.

Level 4 (150/300):

7. Won a few pots without showdown to reach 11850 at the first break.

Level 5 (200/400 ante:100)

8. I limped with 68s on the button. 3 Callers. Flop came 68Q. EP bets 400, I call. Turn K, EP bets 800, I RR 2400 and take it down.

9. Didn't get a chance to play many hands as I either missed the flop or folded to resistance when my draws didn't materialize.

That brought me down to 6900 at the end of Level 5.

Level 6 (300/600 ante:100)

10. I was totally card dead in this level and was just blinding down. I was at 5100 by end of the level and was in desperate need for a double up.

Level 7 (400/800 ante:200)

Busto hand, woke up with K's in MP and went all-in. LP thinks for a minutes and reshoves over the top. He is not happy to see K's.

He got one of our outs and doesn't miss any of his outs when the board came A8385.

Last event would most probably be on Tuesday (9/25/2012).

Hello All,

The title of this post should be "How to deal with 2/5 players and a known maniac!". I got busted in Level 8 in Event 7.

There were a total of 42 (courtesy Borgata open) players and I got knocked out in 15.

Level Av_Stack My_Stack #Players Hand Description
1 10263 10100 38/39 + Allin twice and chopped (unreal)
2 10500 8450 40/42 - Lost a pot here trying to takeout the rebuy guy
3 12727 14150 33/42
4 14482 11600 29/42
5 18260 11000 23/42
6 23333 15600 18/42 + Triple up, jumped from 3800 - 15600
7 28000 11600 15/42
8 28000 6800 Out in 15th, J9os on the button vs A5os in SB. Board came A93K7.

Major Hands:

Level 1 (25/50)

I was just observing the table in the first few hands as the 2/5 player in Seat 10 made a few fancy plays. I tagged him as a LAG and was waiting for an oppurtunity. It came right away.

1. Limped with Q9s in MP. Button raised to 225. 3 Callers (B, BB and MP). Flop 678 rainbow. BB Checks, I bet 300 as a block bet to see where I was at, Villian Raises to 1600, I Call (heads-up). Turn 10, I check, Villian goes all in. I call. Q9s vs K9os. I pray for a J and don't get it as the river comes a 3. We chop. Remember this is well within the rebuy period which kind of explains the madness behind his approach.

2. I raise to 350 in SB with KQos. Villian from the previous hand limped in EP RR to 1650. I call (headsup). Flop is 46K rainbow. He bets 2200, I call (I had to discount AK as he wouldn't limp with that hand). Turn 9 completing the rainbow. He goes all-in and I call. We both have KQos. We again chop.

That put me at 10100 at the end of Level 1.

Level 2 (50/100):

3. Limps to me in SB, I raise to 225 with A9s. I didn't want Villian in Seat 10 to see a cheap flop. 3 Callers. Flop JQ2 with 1 of my suit. I bet 500, villian calls (headsup). Turn 5 of my suit. I bet 500 again and he folds.

In the mean while, Seat 2 (another asian 2/5 player) gets into a big pot with Seat 10 and loses most of his stack. He is ready to rebuy (he was left with 2800 at the start of this hand and I was salivating for the same).

4. In LP I limp with 89s. Villian in Seat 10 limps on button. Seat 2 raises to 600. We both call (3 callers). Flop comes 9JQ. Seat 2 checks, I check, Seat 10 bets 1K, Seat 2 goes all-in for 2200. I call 2200. Seat 10 goes all in and I fold. It is 104os of Seat 10 vs K7s of Seat 2. Turn 6, River 5.

Seat 2 triples up with K high. We lose another $150 buy-in into the prize pool.

That put me at 8450 at the end of Level 2.

Level 3 (100/200):

5. I limp on the button with A6s. A new player who was short stacked moves to our table and is the villian in this hand on BB. He raises to 600. I call 400 more and we are heads up. Flop comes low with 2 diamonds. He ships his stack 4000. I made the call with NFD and I am up against A10os. The turn Q diamond completed my flush. A6s > A10os.

That put me at 14150 at the end of Level 3.

Level 4 (150/300):

6. I was totally card dead in this level and didn't play or folded a few hands that I missed.

I was at 11600 at the first break.

Level 5 (200/400 ante:100)

7. I tangled again with our Seat 10 after the first break. I raised in LP to 800 with KJs. He bets 1600 in BB and I call (heads-up Pot: 4200+). Flop came J93. He goes all in for 5100. I made the call and up against J9os. Turn 8 and River A.

That put me down to 4900 mid way in Level 5.

8. I limp in MP with A9os with the plan to shove if I hit my Ace (3 callers, Pot:2400+). Flop came 9Q3 clubs. Pair and nut flush draw. I go all in for 4.4K. First caller pushes his last 900 and second caller calls my all in. Turn A and River 10 clubs. Shorty didn't
show and BB flips over Q8os.

I ended up with 11000 at end of Level 5.

Level 6 (300/600 ante:100)

I forgot to mention about the maniac. Maniac was in seat 5. I was in Seat 7. Seat 5 was hit with the deck and amassed a huge stack. He started opening his range with premium hands like 26os, 35os etc., and would raise to 2500 if limped to him. This started hurting
me on my BB where I had to fold most of my one gappers and suited cards.

9. In one particular hand, I was sitting with 89s on my BB. He limps for 600 on the button, I check, SB reraises to 2400. He comes over the top to put me and BB all-in. I fold an BB calls. It is SB's 10's vs Buttons A's.

Flop was a beauty 889 Turn 6 River 4.

10. I defended a few hands with suited big cards, but, the flop didn't quite help.

I ended up with 3800 at end of Level 6.

Level 7 (400/800 ante:200)

11. There was a raise in MP to 3200 and maniac calls and I ship with KQs for 3800. Flop came all low with two of my suit. Turn was an off suite A and river K of clubs. Original Raiser had J's vs our K's.

I ended up with 11600 at end of Level 7.

Level 8 (500/1000 ante: 300)

12. I limped in with Pocket 8's in LP with two callers (Maniac and EP). SB shoves all-in and we are playing with the same stacks. Folds around to me and I haven't seen him play any hands, so, didn't quite feel like calling all in with 8's. So, I folded.

The maniac in Seat 5 started raising the blinds once again while I was getting marginal hands. That put me down to 6800. I was just waiting for a good spot to shove.

13. It was folded to me on the button and with the maniac out of the picture I shoved with J9os. SB thinks for a few minutes declaring he has a very good hand and calls along with BB. Flop came A93, SB bets half the pot and BB open folds 8's. We are up against A5os. Turn was a K and River was a 7. I was out in 15th.

As I mentioned I will wait for the Borgata events to be over. It might pick up the numbers at CT. The last event would be on a Tuesday, might be the one on 9/25/2012.

Hello All,

As Blue mentioned had a nice run from 22K at Bubble (was only dreaming of min cash to start) to 1.2/1.6 Million at the Final Table.

It was nice to finish in 4th place. The last hand where I pushed my 1.2 Million at 200/400K 50K Ante (unreal, we were playing something like Level 36, the tournament sheets don't list after Level 22) was with 77's on the button. SB who was sitting with 7/8 Mill makes the call. 77 vs KJ. Flop came 710Q giving me a Set. Turn 8. Left with only 8 outs to win, he spike an Ace on the River.

As we ran so bad with this package and only one more event to go, I am feeling a little generous and would throw in one free roll (a $150 event) for all the investors.

So, you paid for 8 Events. I will play 9 Events with the last one as a free roll where all the percentages would carry over.

Thanks,

I made a mistake with the number of outs, the turn 8 gave him a few more outs as he can make a st8 with any 9, giving him at total of 12 outs.

pre flop 77 vs KJ.. you were 55% to 45%.. all that really mattered...

however:
post flop, 75% to 25%
turn, 82% vs 18%

Which 1K?

I am eagerly waiting for their open series (Hollywood Open). The poker room manger indicated that they might start as early as this fall.

Once the Borgata Events end the numbers for the daily's should go up. Hopefully we can get lucky with the flips and fall on the right side of the variance.

Bubbled the free roll, it was unbelievable that I went into FT with above average 61K and had only one playable hand AKs on the final table.

Either I was getting good cards and missing the flops or bad cards and folding. It was unreal that every time a SS goes all-in they were doubling up. It happened at least 6/7 times. We would have been in the money otherwise.

They paid the bubble 25 each, so, we got 125 back. After knocking out the 5th place guy for $585, the rest chopped, 2K for leader and 1300 for the others.

It was very very close, hopefully we can run better in the next one.

It was an amazing feeling to reach the FT after my deep run at AC.

I was in the hunt with above average stack on the FT. As I mentioned only one good hand on the FT (AKs). The rest of them were variations of 2X (where X was 3-9). Got a few small pocket pair hands, where set mining didn't materialize or had to fold for heavy bets on face card heavy boards.

In the mean while short stacks were doubling up like there is no tomorrow. 56>K8, 10J>A10/AQ and JJ>AX when the board came low.

We would have easily taken 5th place at the very least. But, it was not meant to be.

Oh well! I felt I played really well to reach the FT. Hopefully it would turn around for the last event of the package.

I will keep you all posted.

Hello All,

Busted in Event 8 in Level 3. Lost a nice double up hand. 9Jos<10's on a AKQ10 with three hearts (I had the lock on J of hearts). The river paired the board with an A. I was All-In by the turn.

I reached the FT three times, it is unfortunate that I couldn't cash.

Thanks to everyone who supported me in this package.

I wish I would have run as hot as I did with my Borgata package.
