Were still at Table 120 Seat 3
07-08-2015 , 02:03 AM
And we just lose a coinflip QQ to AK vs a short stack sigh. Board runs out 234A7 for 22k. pot sigh. Down to approximately 37,000.
07-08-2015 , 02:44 AM
We just lose another huge pot with 77 on J72 two spade board vs A9 spades Allin on flop. Board runs out 3heart 6 spades and he rivers nut flush. Pot was 29k vs same guy to double him up again. Guy runs quite well against me. Sigh. Can we win An Allin? Down to 22k. Win either pot and we are at a 50k+ stack. 55 minutes left till the end of day. Gotta try to finish the night strong.

They just announced over the loud speaker that last years champion Martin Jacobson has been eliminated this year. Then we won a small pot to get to 26k

Good news: we bagged and made day 2. Everyone's probably asleep so I'll save the bad news for my next post in ten minutes lol, after we get done bagging

Fine we are chip leader. Jk lol. Bad news bagged 17,000. Had a disastrous level five. Lost two allins for big pots as a favorite. Then two failed bluff attempts towards the end of the night

Good news: Bagged more than the only famous pro at my table. Olivier bagged $13,100. Good news: day off Wednesday to recover from level five and clear my head. Good news: coming back to 250/500 blinds on Thursday at noon, so we still have 34bbs and two hour levels, so there's still a lot of opportunities left. Good news: we are now due to win an Allin as we are 0/2 in big allins this tournament. (Luckily neither Allin was for our tournament life, we doubled up the same guy twice which is mind boggling).

Go get some sleep. Come in refreshed for day 2. You had some bad luck in races but you know damn well you can still be patient.

Congrats on bagging.

Thx....yea I'm going to do literally nothing tomorrow except gym, pool, relaxing, and then I'll get to bed early Wednesday for Thursday Day 2. I guess you can't win the main event if you do not make it pass Day 1, so we have a chance that approx 2,000 players do not have, because they were eliminated on Day 1. Will post official numbers tomorrow as to how many players remain. It's approximately 4500 players remaining from a starting field of 6420 total entrants. 1000 of which make it into the money on Friday night

Pretty disgusting to play great all day, increase stack in each level, then have those two hands happen. But it is what it is. I am at table 147 Seat 1 for Day 2 Thursday at 12pm. My specialty is 50bb and under poker, so we will see what I can do with 34bbs

The plays sound solid... Variance is what it is.

Forget the day and play a solid game in your <50BB zone.

IMO If there is a very big stack, go binary, avoid or shove strength. I wouldn't value bet a made but vulnerable hand. My style, but I never give a flush draw anything close to implied odds to call unless very deep stacked and not a big portion of my chips.

We've all come from dead last of 20 or so left to win or place... (I did it twice last week but this is about you lol)...

...you just need to do that with your table for the day...

I've taken a look at your table 2 draw and it looks pretty good, though knowing seat 2's name/chips would be great. I wouldn't recognize anyone at your table if it weren't for playing with seat 8, Georg Beiske, these 2 last years in a Wynn NLHE and Venetian PLO tournament. He played a good LAG game in the relatively few hands that our table lasted. We didn't play any major hands, but I do recall that he opened in EP and I was the only caller. Flop was 934r and he just check folds, so he's not an auto c-bettor. Of course I had a set of 9s. Hope that info helps a little bit.

Yea played a great 10 hours of poker but those two hands were key. Variance is a b**** lol. Yea now it's a new fresh day Thursday with 34bbs and two hour levels, so I'm feeling positive going into tomorrow.

Yea I've come back from 2bbs the Wsop 30rebuy final earlier in June, to finish second, so anything can happen as long as we have chips, which luckily we do going into Day2. 34bbs give us plenty of opportunity to find good spots

Yea table draw looks pretty good for day 2. I'll look up everyone at my table, more in depth, later today. Thanks for the info on George, I'll make a note of it in my player notes on my iPhone for Thursday

Will do. I destroyed Olivier for you yesterday as I had position all day on him yesterday. He ended the day with 13,100 chips. Unfortunately all those chips that I earned in the first few levels were washed away in two big hands, but that just means that we have to rebuild the stack Thursday

Got up at like 1130M today. Went to the gym, just ate lunch. Going to relax and go to the gym again from 5-7pm. Then I'll walk around the strip and get to sleep around 11pm. I want to get a full nights rest, preferably 10hrs tonight, because starting Thursday, we have six straight days of poker to get to the final table on Tuesday night, July 14th. Thursday is a big day obviously. And Friday around Level 14, the Main Event will be whittled down to 1000 players, all guaranteed a minimum $15,000. We gonna try hard to be one of them

Day 2 Seats can be found here: http://www.wsop.com/pdfs/reports/142...ts-by-Seat.pdf. I'm at table 147 seat 1. They list me as Eric Steinberg from Las Vegas NV, that's me. I used to live in Vegas so they probably never updated my new NJ address in the system
