Re: 23 rail

Weird spot before break, I open A4ss mp, spinella flats sb, hu. Flop 5s5hTh, I cbet same opening size 3.5k, he calls, turn Tc, goes check check, river 9x he leads 12k into 17k ish. It's close but only floats I can give you are maybe suited Broadway with some sort of fd or bd and I don't know how thin he goes for value. I can potentially have some TX that may play this way so I don't feel obligated to hero Ax especially blocking is nut bdfd. I fold. Getting 2.4:1 I don't need him to be bluffing all that often and it's possible I need to flat some % of my A hi that doesn't block his bluffs. I have many pairs and perhaps I need some bluffs on river too, very hard to imagine a balanced range here. A spot I def want to look over.

Re: 23 rail

Sigh, mp open, spinella 3b, I rip 28bb ish with KJ from bb, spinella has AK and it holds. Would have been a nice spot to run good. Was over 22k in pot and I shoved 60k so assuming I get folds half the time I just over break even, given that I think both spinella and other villian can only call off top 4% of hands (which they have less freq bc of card removal) and that original raiser folding about 80%+, and spinella could easily be folding a similar amt, the shove def makes money. If assuming I get folds 60% and have 30% eq vs calls, hero makes 1.5bb rounded down which I think is using fairly conservative #s as I think fold eq is a bit higher and hero most likely making close to 2bb which is a solid outcome for any preflop poker decision. Van discount ev a little given the possibility of each villain having a callable hand but that's rare. High variance play but I think aside from image the spot was good for it.

Re: 23 rail

I don't think I played bad at all today, just took an aggressive approach in spots and needed some cards to hit. Needed to set myself up for victory and depending on premiums in this field wasn't gonna do it. Gg guys.

Re: 23 rail

Fwiw, after crunching numbers and ranges a bit more thoroughly, the move is profitable but I think I'd pass with KJ and do it with my value and KQs, A5s etc. Would do some KJs/KTs with slightly shallower stack and more info on opening range of original raiser (I'm assuming he's opening 15+% and I favor a shove with the bottom of my range if I've seen more SD indicating he's looser than previously stated. I don't think in game the shove was necessarily a mistake but it may have been over zealous. Let's hope I get more shots at making good decisions deep in a tournament this summer...
